New Ryanair routes from Madrid
Ryanair have put four new Spanish domestic routes on sale from Madrid. These include flights to Santiago de Compostela, Alicante, Palma and Valencia, all of which begin on 18 November 2008.

Wizz Air to open new Romanian base at Timisoara
Wizz Air have announced that they will open their 10th base at Timisoara in Romania. They have put eight routes on sale to this new airport, including flights from London (Luton), Dortmund and Rome (Fiumicino) (all beginning 17 December 2008) and from Barcelona, Milan (Orio al Serio), Paris (Beauvais), Rome (Fiumicino), Valencia and Venice (Treviso) (from 11 March 2009). Flights are available to book now for these new routes.

Clickair flights from Valencia to Dubovnik

New Volareweb routes from Milan
Volareweb have 15 new routes launching over the next few months from their Milan (Malpensa) base. These include flights launching in April 2008 to Athens, Brindisi, Krakow, Malaga, Malta, Lamezia-Terme, Paris (Orly), Valencia and Warsaw. From July they will also add flights to Heraklion, Ibiza, Olbia, Palma and Rhodos.

Ibiza expansion for Vueling
Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will launch a number of flights to Ibiza from the end of April. On 25 April 2008 they launch flights from Madrid to Ibiza. On 30 May they will begin flying from Ibiza to Bilbao, Milan (Malpensa), Seville, Valencia and Paris (Charles de Gaulle). They will also launch flights from Ibiza to Alicante on 13 June. SmartWings to fly to Valencia
Czech low-cost airline SmartWings will begin a new route from their Prague base to Valencia. They will operate flights twice per week on this route from 01 May 2008.

Wizz Air to expand Bulgarian operation
Wizz Air will expand their base at Sofia next year, with the announcement that they will launch new routes in July 2008, and increase frequencies on existing routes. From 12 July they will launch new routes from Sofia to Varna, Milan (Orio al Serio), Valencia, Barcelona and Izmir.

Cluj-Napoca is 8th base for Wizz Air
Wizz Air will make Cluj-Napoca (Romania) their 8th European base next year. They have put two further routes from sale from Cluj-Napoca to Valencia and Milan (Orio al Serio) on 15 May 2008, bringing their total number of flights from Cluj-Napoca to 8.

Sterling to expand at Malmo
Sterling will launch five new routes from Malmo next year, including flights to London (Gatwick), Alicante, Barcelona, Florence and Nice. These flights will begin from the end of March 2008.
Also from 30 March, Sterling will begin flying from Copenhagen to Murcia and Valencia, and from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Florence, Rome (Fiumicino) and Murcia.

Norwegian to open base at new low-cost Oslo airport
Norwegian Air Shuttle, currently based at Oslo (International), will begin flying from the new low cost airport for the city, Oslo (Rygge), next year. They will begin flights there from mid-February 2008, and destinations from Oslo (Rygge) will include: London (Stansted), Alicante, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Marrakech, Warsaw, Szczecin, Palanga, Budapest, Istanbul (Sabiha), Athens, Belgrade and Bergen.

Valencia and Alicante to become Ryanair bases
Ryanair will open their 21st and 22nd bases this year at Alicante and Valencia airports, in Spain. They will add new routes from Alicante during November and December 2007, including flights to Karlsruhe-Baden, Basel, Billund, Bournemouth, Brussels (Charleroi), Doncaster, East Midlands, Gothenburg (Saeve), Maastricht, Milan (Orio al Serio) and Paris (Beauvais).
They will add new routes from Valencia in October, to make this their 22nd base. The new routes include flights to Karlsruhe-Baden, Basel, Billund, Bologna (Forli), Eindhoven, Liverpool, Malta, Maastricht, Paris (Beauvais), Oporto and Santiago de Compostela.

13 new Ryanair routes from Stockholm
Ryanair will increase capacity at their Stockholm (Skavsta) base this October. They will begin flights from Stockholm (Skavsta) to Alicante, Basel, Berlin (Schoenefeld), Bratislava, Eindhoven, Karlsruhe-Baden, Liverpool, Malta, Pisa, Oporto, Salzburg (from December 2007), Trapani and Valencia.

Ryanair launches base at Weeze
Ryanair have announced eight new routes from Weeze (or Dusseldorf Weeze as they like to call it), which they will launch this October. These new routes include flights to Trapani, Milan (Orio al Serio), Valencia, Seville, Malaga, Fuerteventura and Marrakech.
They will also launch flights (four times per week) from Weeze to the Swedish city of Vaxjo. Ryanair will become the first low-cost airline to fly to Vaxjo, and it is anticipated that they may launch further routes to Vaxjo over the coming months.

New Wizz Air routes from Bucharest
Wizz Air will begin three new routes from Bucharest (Otopeni) this October. From 01 October 2007, they will begin flying between Bucharest (Otopeni) and Liverpool and Parma. From they end of October they will begin flying from Bucharest (Otopeni) to Valencia.

Summer routes with Thomsonfly
Thomsonfly will operate a number of new summer routes from the beginning of May 2007. The new flights include:

- Manchester to Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mahon and Venice (Marco Polo)

Norwegian to fly five new routes
Norwegian Air Shuttle will begin flying four new routes on 14 April 2007, including Oslo (International) to Bordeaux, Valencia and Pula (Croatia), and also from thir Trondheim base to Malaga. Clickair to expand flights to London and Barcelona
clickair, the new Spanish low-cost airline, will begin flying to London (Heathrow) on 01 February 2007, and will launch an extensive operation from Barcelona in the first quarter of 2007.
They will fly from London (Heathrow) to Valencia and Seville. From Barcelona they will launch nine new routes, including flights to Malaga, Oporto, Frankfurt (International), Munich, Berlin (Tegel), Basel, Amsterdam, Dublin and Prague. This will come as a major challenge to Vueling, whose main base is at Barcelona.

Hapag-Lloyd Express add flights to Rimini
Hapag-Lloyd Express will begin flying from their bases at Munich and Stuttgart to Rimini in Italy. Flights will begin from 15 May 2007. They will also launch a route from Hanover to Valencia at the end of March 2007. Flights on all of these new routes can be booked at www.hlx.com.

Ryanair expansion at Nottingham East Midlands
From 12 February 2007, Ryanair will expand their operation from East Midlands. During a two week period they will launch 10 new routes. They will begin flying to Inverness, Knock, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Granada, Alghero, Milan (Orio al Serio), Pisa, Krakow and Bratislava.
Clickair to fly to Heathrow
The new low-cost airline partially owned by Spanish flag carrier Iberia, clickair, intend to begin flying to London (Heathrow) from next summer. They have secured landing slots at the airport and it is believed that they will launch new routes to Valencia and Seville. At present, no other low-cost airlines fly to Heathrow.

Jet2 expand Spanish flights from Newcastle
Jet2 will increase their presence at Newcastle airport, increasing the number of routes that they operate from their airport to 13. They will begin flying from late March 2007 to Malaga and Palma, and from late May to Valencia and Almeria.
easyJet already fly from Newcastle to Malaga and Palma, and this expansion will see Jet2 and easyJet going head-to-head for the first time on these new routes.

Clickair flights go on sale
clickair, the new Spanish low-cost airline partially owned by Iberia - the national carrier of Spain, have put their first flights on sale. The flights, commencing 01 October 2006, include routes from Barcelona (their primary base) to Seville, Geneva, Zurich, and Lisbon. They will also fly from Seville to Paris (Orly). In November, they will launch flights from Valencia to Paris (Orly) and Rome (Fiumicino).

Ryanair will launch 6 new routes at the end of October 2006. They will begin flying from Glasgow (Prestwick) to Riga and Eindhoven, and from their Frankfurt (Hahn) base to Valencia, Nantes, Balaton and Biarritz.

Ryanair adds 6 new routes from Pisa
Ryanair will launch 6 routes from their Pisa base from 14 September 2006. They will begin flying daily to Valencia and Trapani, 4 times per week to Doncaster and Karlsruhe-Baden and 3 times per week to Friedrichshafen and Oslo (Torp).

Vueling launches online check-in
It is now possible to check-in online for flights with Vueling. It is possible to print your boarding pass, and customers may board without checking in at the airport if they do not have any hold baggage.
It is possible to check-in from 2 days before your flight until 4 hours prior to departure.
This facility is currently available on flights from Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Seville, Palma, Valencia and Malaga.

Ryanair to launch 16 new routes from Dublin
From April 2006, Ryanair will base 5 new aircraft at Dublin airport and will launch 16 new routes. They will also increase flight frequencies on 8 other routes from Dublin.
The new routes from Dublin will include Kaunas, Bratislava, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Malmo, Gothenburg, Venice (Treviso), Milan (Orio al Serio), Salzburg, Oporto, Valencia, Marseille, Nantes, La Rochelle, Hamburg (Luebeck) and Karlsruhe-Baden.
Ryanair will also launch a flight between Dublin and Humberside, which will become the first low-cost route from Humberside airport.

Vueling add 3 new routes

EUJet will commence 8 new routes from Kent (Manston) for the summer 2005. From 27 March they will launch new flights to Alicante, Budapest, Belfast (International), Newcastle, Girona and Cologne-Bonn. From 01 May they will launch routes to Seville and Valencia.

Thomsonfly announces Bournemouth base details
Thomsonfly, who recently announced details of their new base at Doncaster, have unveiled the routes they will fly from their new base at Bournemouth for the summer season next year.
They will begin a total of 7 routes, including Paris (Charles de Gaulles), Malaga, Palma (Mallorca), Faro, Amsterdam, Pisa and Valencia.

Thomsonfly announce Doncaster base
Today, Thomsonfly has announced the much awaited details of the routes they will fly from their new base at Doncaster. As with their base at Coventry, they will be the first low-cost airline to fly from Doncaster.
They will fly to Alicante, Malaga, Pisa, Palma (Mallorca), Jersey, Faro, Dublin, Prague, Ibiza and Valencia and Paris (Charles de Gaulles).

Jet2 makes Manchester a new hub
Jet2, currently based primarily at Leeds (Bradford) have announced they they will expand, using Manchester as their next hub.
They have announced 9 destinations from Manchester which include Budapest (starting 01 December 2004), Murcia, (02 December 2004), Valencia, Nice, Venice, Faro (all starting 19 March 2005),Pisa (26 May 2005), Geneva (18 December 2004) and Malaga (04 February 2004).
Ryanair to expand Milan hub next year
Ryanair have announced that they will expand their hub at Milan (Orio al Serio) next year. They will add 7 new routes, bringing the total number of routes flown from the airport up to 16.
6 of the new routes will commence on 25 February 2005, these include Oslo (Torp), Newcastle, Liverpool, Seville, Zaragoza and Eindhoven. They will also begin a route to Valencia on 19 January 2005.
In addition to their expansion at Milan, it would seem they are due to begin a new route from Frankfurt (Hahn) to Klagenfurt on 01 March 2005.

easyJet introduces 5 new routes including routes to Ireland
easyJet have decided to begin flying routes to Ireland for the first time, service will commence on 28 January 2005. They will begin flying from London (Gatwick) to Shannon, Cork and Knock.
In addition, they will add 2 new Spanish routes (beginning 01 March 2005) from Gatwick, Almeria and Valencia. This will bring the number of routes they fly from Gatwick to 29.

Ryanair announces 4 new routes
Ryanair have announced that they will begin flying from London (Stansted) to Oporto from 19 January 2005. This will be their first route to Portugal. In addition, they have announced further expansion in Spain with new routes from Stansted to Valencia (commencing 02 November 2004), Almeria (19 January 2005) and Seville (25 February 2005).
It is expected that they will announced a further 4 new routes in western Europe next week.

Ryanair expands Rome base
Ryanair have announced that they are to expand their base at Rome (Ciampino). At present they fly 12 routes from the airport, and over the coming months will add another 5 daily routes to this. On 28 January 2005 they will launch new routes from Ciampino to Niederrhein, Liverpool and Teesside. On 07 February they will also add new routes to Nottingham (East Midlands) and Valencia.
In addition, they are also starting a new route on 08 November 2004 from Girona to Niederrhein.

easyJet launch new Bristol - Valencia route
easyJet chose not to continue flying their routes from Bristol to Copenhagen and Bilbao this winter season, however they have just announced that they will begin flying a new route from Bristol to Valencia this winter. The route commences on 03 November 2004 and tickets are on sale now.

easyJet announces 6 more new routes
Flights this winter are already hotting up, despite many remarks that the industry will suffer a blow during the off-peak season. Showing a serious commitment to expansion, easyJet have just announced a further 6 new European routes, including destinations which are completely new to them.
The new routes include London (Luton) and Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Bratislava, London (Luton) to Turin, London (Stansted) to Almeria and Valencia and Bristol to Madrid.

Vueling Airlines - a new budget airline for Europe
Vueling Airlines is a new Spanish budget airline with bases in Barcelona and Valencia.
They are due to begin flying on 01 July 2004, with the aim of connecting Spain with the ‘major capitals’ of south-west Europe. Initially, they will begin flying (from both bases) to Paris (Charles de Gaulles), Brussels, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca.
