Air Berlin to fly to Arvidsjaur

Low-cost flights begin to Heringsdorf – the German seaside

Air Berlin will begin flying to to the German seaside resort of Heringsdorf this summer from four airports across Germany. From 01 May 2010 they will fly from Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Nuremberg and Stuttgart to Heringsdorf. Flights are on sale now at

Germanwings to launch new base at Hanover

Germanwings will this summer open a new base at Hanover and launch 15 new routes. From May 2010 they will begin flights to Stuttgart, Bastia, Palma, Vienna, Barcelona, Heraklion, Moscow (Vnukovo), Zadar, Budapest, London (Stansted), Rome (Fiumicino), Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Milan (Malpensa) and Split.

They are expected to create around 70 new flights per week which will be operated by three aircraft.

New Air Berlin routes to Preveza

Germanwings to fly to Sarajevo

Germanwings have put their winter 2008/09 timetable on sale, which includes a new route from their Stuttgart base to Sarajevo. This route will begin from 27 October 2008. They will also launch flights to Sarajevo from Cologne-Bonn in mid-August.

New Air Berlin routes from November

Air Berlin have announced four new routes which will launch from November 2008. These include Nuremberg to Milan (Malpensa) and Zurich, as well as from Saarbruecken to Zurich and Stuttgart to Lamezia-Terme. These new routes are available to book now at

Blue Air to fly to Sibiu

Blue Air will begin flights next month to the Transylvanian city of Sibiu. From 01 June 2008, they will begin flights to Sibiu from Stuttgart and Bucharest (Baneasa). From 14 June, they will also launch flights to Sibiu from Cologne-Bonn.

Click4Sky – a new European virtual low-cost airline

Click4Sky is a new low-cost airline created by CSA Czech Airlines. Unlike most other low-cost airlines, Click4Sky does not operate any flights – instead it is being used as a marketing brand in order to sell unsold seats on existing CSA flights. In addition, the airline will sell all seats at a fixed price. Customers travelling with Click4Sky will experience exactly the same on-board service as those travelling with CSA.

They will sell tickets on flights to 36 European destinations from their Prague hub. Blue Air to fly to Stuttgart

Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air will begin flying to Stuttgart this autumn. They will add routes from Arad and Bucharest (Baneasa), and tickets will go on sale from the beginning of July.

Germanwings will begin flying to Kavala (Greece) from their Stuttgart base next year. Weekly flights will begin on 27 March 2007.

Germanwings summer 2007 schedule on sale

Germanwings have put flights on sale until the end of October 2007. This includes a number of new routes from their Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn, Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) bases. Flights begin from the end of March.

From Cologne-Bonn they will begin flying to Alghero (Sardinia), Zadar (Croatia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Bucharest (Baneasa) (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Bourgas (Bulgaria), Varna (Bulgaria) and Kavala. From Stuttgart they will begin flying to Bastia (Corsica), from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) to Palma and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Bourgas (Bulgaria), Verona (Villafranca) (Bulgaria) and Balaton  (Hungary).

Germanwings to launch new routes for summer

Germanwings have put a number of new routes on sale for the summer 2007 season. These include flights from their Cologne-Bonn base to Rhodos, Malta, Corfu, Lamezia-Terme and Mykonos. They will launch new routes from their Stuttgart hub to Athens, Ankara (Esenboga), Lamezia-Terme, Malta and Ibiza, and also from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) to Corfu and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Mykonos.

German low-cost airline dba will begin flying directly between Stuttgart and Moscow (Domodedovo) next week. This will see them compete with Germanwings who already fly between Stuttgart and Moscow (Vnukovo).

Germanwings winter 06/07 flights

Tomorrow, Germanwings will release tickets for part of their winter 2006/07 season flights. These will include new routes to Pristina from Stuttgart and Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel), along with a large number of existing destinations.

Germanwings launches flights to St Petersburg

Germanwings will launch flights to St. Petersburg from Cologne-Bonn on 28 April 2006. They will fly 3 times weekly, restoring St. Petersburg back on the low-cost airline map of Europe.

Germanwings summer 2006 timetable

Later this evening, Germanwings will put their summer 2006 timetable on sale. This will include new routes from Cologne-Bonn to Alicante, Gdansk, Gothenburg (Saeve), Heraklion, Jerez and Antalya. It will also include new routes from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Ibiza, Stuttgart to Antalya and Hamburg to Izmir.

Hapag-Lloyd Express summer 2006 flight schedule

Hapag-Lloyd Express will put their summer flight schedule (for flights between 26 March – 30 September 2006) on sale today at 17:00 (UK time).

They will launch a number of new routes, including Manchester to Hanover, Westerland (Sylt) to Hanover, Cologne-Bonn and Stuttgart, and from Leipzig to Stuttgart.

Germanwings will launch 6 new routes from Stuttgart at the end of October 2005. They will begin flying to Bologna, Verona, Prague, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Milan (Malpensa) and Dusseldorf.

Hemus Air to enter low-cost market?

Bulgarian airline Hemus Air (formerly a state-owned airline, but now under private ownership) has reacted to Wizz Air‘s announcement to launch routes from Budapest to the Bulgarian capital – Sofia, with a decision to launch low-cost services.

They are said to be considering flying from Sofia to Vienna, Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn and Leipzig using a budget airline model.

Germanwings will put tickets on sale this evening for a new route from Stuttgart to Izmir. Flights are due to operate from 17 July to 24 September 2005.

Germanwings adds Stuttgart to Palma

Germanwings are continuing their expansion at their 2nd based at Stuttgart. They will begin flying from Stuttgart to Palma (Mallorca) in November 2004.

This new route is in addition to the 7 new destinations recently announced from Stuttgart, which included Madrid, London (Stansted), Warsaw, Zagreb, Krakow, Hamburg and Dresden, which also commence at the same time.

Germanwings expands at Stuttgart

Germanwings have announced that they will be increasing the number of flights from their hub in Stuttgart.

From 31 October 2004 they will begin flying new routes to Hamburg, Dresden, Krakow, Warsaw, Zagreb and London (Stansted). In addition, they will restore their link between Stuttgart and Madrid.
