Milan to Stockholm with easyJet
easyJet will begin flying from their Milan (Malpensa) base to Stockholm (Arlanda) this winter - their second route to Stockholm (Arlanda). Flights will begin on this route from the end of October 2008.

FlyNordic to fly Sweden to Belgrade
Scandinavian low-cost airline flynordic will begin flying from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Belgrade this summer. They will fly twice per week on this route from 16 June 2008.

FlyNordic to fly to Sarajevo, Istanbul and Dusseldorf

New summer routes for Sterling
Sterling have put ten new routes on sale for the summer 2008 season. These include the following:
- Billund to Olbia and Prague
- Copenhagen to Naples, Olbia, Trieste, Varna and Venice (Marco Polo)
- Gothenburg (Landvetter) to Bourgas
- Stockholm (Arlanda) to Bourgas and Naples

Summer routes to Iceland
Iceland Express will operate additional summer flights to Icelandic destinations next year. These will include flights from Copenhagen to both Akureyri and Egilsstadir. They will also fly to Reykjavik from Stockholm (Arlanda) and Oslo (International).
All of these flights are scheduled to begin from 15 May 2008.

Stockholm to Tallinn and Bordeaux with FlyNordic
flynordic will reinstate their route from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Tallinn next summer. From 30 March 2008, they will fly four times per week on this route. They also begin flying from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Bordeaux the following week.

FlyNordic add three routes from Stockholm
flynordic will launch three new routes from Stockholm (Arlanda) next year. From the beginning of February 2008 they will begin flying to Geneva, and from 28 April they will launch flights to Split and Dubrovnik. These flights are available to book now.

Sterling to expand at Malmo
Sterling will launch five new routes from Malmo next year, including flights to London (Gatwick), Alicante, Barcelona, Florence and Nice. These flights will begin from the end of March 2008.
Also from 30 March, Sterling will begin flying from Copenhagen to Murcia and Valencia, and from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Florence, Rome (Fiumicino) and Murcia.

Scandinavian flights from Nottingham East Midlands
Sterling will begin flying to East Midlands from their Scandinavian bases. From the end of October 2007, they will launch flights to East Midlands from Oslo (International), Copenhagen and Stockholm (Arlanda). They will also launch flights between London (Gatwick) and Oslo (International) at the same time.

New Sterling flights for winter
This winter, Sterling will begin a number of new routes from their Scandinavian bases. From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying to Dortmund from Stockholm (Arlanda), Copenhagen and Oslo (International). Stering to fly to Brussels
Scandinavian low-cost airline Sterling will begin flying to Brussels (International) from their various bases in Scandinavia. From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying to Brussels (International) from Stockholm (Arlanda), Oslo (International) and Copenhagen.

Sterling to fly to Stockholm from Edinburgh

Cheap flights between Sweden and Turkey
Swedish low-cost airline FlyMe will begin flights from their Gothenburg (Landvetter) base to Istanbul (Sabiha) next year. From 02 April 2007 they will fly weekly on this route, increasing to twice weekly in May. They will also begin flights from Gothenburg (Landvetter) to Rimini on 03 May and Stockholm (Arlanda) to Marseille on 25 March.

Flynordic summer routes on sale
On 05 April 2007 flynordic will begin flights from their Stockholm (Arlanda) base to Toulon via Bordeaux (a stop only), also facilitating connections from Bordeaux to Toulon. They will also start flying from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Dublin (from 01 April) and Tallinn (from 04 May).
FlyMe to fly to Malaga
Swedish low-cost airline FlyMe will begin flying from their Stockholm (Arlanda) base to Malaga next year. They will fly weekly from 24 February 2007.

Scandinavian low-cost airline FlyMe will launch nine new Swedish routes from March 2007. Polish expansion for Norwegian
Norwegian Air Shuttle will expand their operation in Poland by launching 7 new routes from 15 September 2006. They will begin flying from Warsaw to Dublin, Stockholm (Arlanda), Rome (Ciampino), Milan (Malpensa) and Athens. They will also begin flying to Stockholm (Arlanda) from Krakow and Wroclaw.

SkyEurope expands Krakow base
SkyEurope will expand their Krakow base, where they currently operate 7 routes.
They will add a further 8 routes in 2006 (and reopen one to Barcelona) from March to June, including Edinburgh, Birmingham, Brussels, Bologna, Stockholm (Arlanda), Naples, Turin and Athens.

Expansion at Iceland Express
Iceland Express are due to begin flying to 5 new European destinations in mid-May 2006. This will more than double the number of routes currently operated from their Reykjavik base.
The new routes will be from Reykjavik to Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter), Berlin (Schoenefeld), Alicante and Friedrichshafen.

Major expansion at Iceland Express
The CEO of Iceland Express has announced that they will begin flying 6 new routes in Spring 2006. They will begin flying to Bergen, Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter), Hamburg (Luebeck), Friedrichshafen and Berlin (Schoenefeld).
Flights will go on sale in October for these new routes.

Hapag-Lloyd Express adds routes
Hapag-Lloyd Express will begin operating 3 new routes from 14 December 2005, including Munich to Bari and Naples and from Stuttgart to Stockholm (Arlanda). On 09 January 2006, they will also launch a route from Stuttgart to Milan (Malpensa).

Germanwings to establish a base at Hamburg
Germanwings will make Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) a base from this coming winter season. They will begin flying to 9 new destinations from Fuhlsbuettel, including Istanbul (Sabiha), Krakow, London (Gatwick), Munich, Oslo, Stockholm, Toulouse, Warsaw and Zagreb.

FlyMe to begin flying to London
FlyMe are due to begin a new daily route from Stockholm (Arlanda) to London (Gatwick) on 03 October 2005.
This will be their first route to the UK and will also be the only current low-cost route from Gatwick to Sweden.

Sterling and flynordic to cooperate
Sterling and flynordic have announced a strategic alliance, they will begin route-sharing on a number of routes and have started cooperating on flight sales.
This will see flynordic operate flights from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Berlin (Tegel), Barcelona, Bordeaux, Budapest and Dublin, and they will also operate the route from Copenhagen to Tallinn.
Sterling will be operating flights from Arlanda to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Nice and Prague. They will also cooperate on their route from Gothenburg to Copenhagen.

Sterling connects Copenhagen and Amsterdam
Sterling will begin flying a new route from Copenhagen to Amsterdam on 01 May 2005. They will use this route from Amsterdam to interconnect flights from their bases at Oslo, Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter) and Billund.
A reminder that only direct low-cost routes appear in the cheap0 database at the present time.

flynordic, the low-cost airline previously known as Nordic Airlink, will launch a number of new routes in March. These will include Stockholm (Arlanda) to Barcelona, Munich, Dublin, Berlin (Tegel) and Tallinn. They will also add a new route from Copenhagen to Tallinn.

Sterling will launch a route for the summer season (beginning 11 June 2005) between Stockholm (Arlanda) and Athens. The route will only run for a period of approximately 2 months.

Sterling adds 7 new summer routes
Sterling have put 7 new routes on sale for summer 2005, including flights to Montpelier from their bases at Billund, Copenhagen (Kastrup), Stockholm (Arlanda) and Gothenburg (Landvetter). In addition they have will launch new routes from Oslo to Athens and Edinburgh and also Copenhagen to Edinburgh.
These new routes commence from May, although some begin later and only run for the summer season. Check their schedules for full details, as many of the flights are only once or twice per week.

flynordic adds Kiruna
flynordic, the recently renamed nordic airlink, will launch a new route from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Kiruna in the arctic region of Northern Sweden. They will be the first low-cost airline to fly to Kiruna.
The route will commence on 02 February 2005.

Hapag-Lloyd Express announce new routes for 05
Hapag-Lloyd Express have announced a selection of new routes which they will begin flying from 09 March 2005. These include Cologne-Bonn to Shannon, Newcastle and Rijeka in Croatia. They are the first airline to add Rijeka to the ‘European low-fares map’, and will also fly there from Hanover.
From Hanover they will also begin flying new routes to Stockholm (Arlanda) and Pisa. From Munich they will add routes to Newcastle, Palermo and Olbia,
In addition, on 05 December 2004 Hapag-Lloyd Express will begin a new service connecting Hamburg and Edinburgh.

FlyMe, the Swedish low-cost airline has announced that from 27 September 2004 they will begin a new route (5 times weekly) between Stockholm (Arlanda) and Angelholm-Helsingborg.

V-Bird announce new route to Stockholm
From 09 July 2004, V-Bird are flying a new route from Niederrhein to Stockholm (Arlanda). Seats are available now, available until the end of March 2005, along with part of their winter schedule.

Snowflake cancel Inverness route
The Swedish budget carrier, Snowflake, have announced that they are to suspend flights between Inverness and Stockholm (Arlanda) on 23 July, this is due to lack of demand.

Umeaflyg will start
It was previously believed that Umeaflyg were not going to begin their planned operation from Umea to Stockholm (Arlanda), however it now seems flights are due to take off at the beginning of May, despite pre-existing heavy competition on the route.
