New Croatian link from Newcastle

Jet2 will begin flying from their Newcastle base to Split next year. Weekly flights will begin on this route from 27 April 2009 and are available to book now at www.jet2.com.

easyJet to add Swiss flights

This summer easyJet will add flights from their Geneva base to Ajaccio, Split (both from 29 June 2008) and Nantes (from 31 March), and from Basel to Cagliari (from 29 June). They will also begin flying a new route between Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Thessaloniki from 31 March.

New easyJet routes from Bristol

easyJet will add three routes from their Bristol base next year. From 23 April 2008, they will begin flying from Bristol to Split, Biarritz and Olbia. At the same time, they will also launch flights from Edinburgh to Nice and from Glasgow (International) to Faro.

easyJet have also put an additional flight on sale to Pisa from their London (Luton) base. They will begin flying this route from the end of March 2008.

FlyNordic add three routes from Stockholm

flynordic will launch three new routes from Stockholm (Arlanda) next year. From the beginning of February 2008 they will begin flying to Geneva, and from 28 April they will launch flights to Split and Dubrovnik. These flights are available to book now.

On Air - low-cost airline connections from Pescara

We have added details of On Air, a low-cost airline based at Pescara in Italy, which aims to increase the level of tourism in the Abruzzo region. They either currently or are scheduled to fly to Pescara from a number of cities across Europe, including Lviv, Kiev, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Brussels (Charleroi), Munich, Split, Bucharest (Baneasa) and Heraklion.

Germanwings winter 2007 schedule on sale

Germanwings have put parts of their winter 2007 flight schedule on sale. This includes, amongst others, new routes from Stuttgart to Belgrade and Kavala, and from Dortmund to Split, Zagreb and Munich.

New flights to Croatia and Macedonia for helvetic

From mid-May 2007, helvetic will begin flights from their Zurich base to the Croatian city of Split, as well as flights from Geneva to Split. At the end of March, they will also launch flights from Zurich to Ohrid.

SkyEurope to open base at Vienna

Despite only being a short distance from their Bratislava base, Central European low-cost airline Sky Europe will open a base at Vienna from 25 March 2007. Traditionally, Vienna has been ignored by many low-cost airlines due to the high landing fees that airlines must pay to fly there.

From March 2007, Sky Europe will fly from Vienna to Barcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels (International), Paris (Orly), Nice, Venice (Treviso), Florence, Rimini, Bucharest (Baneasa), Sofia, Athens, Thessaloniki, Larnaca, Zadar, Dubrovnik and Split.

New flybe routes on sale for Summer 2007

flybe have put a second batch of flights from their Summer 2007 schedule on sale. This includes 13 new routes including flights to Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel), Dubrovnik, Split, Avignon, Rennes, Brest, Nice, Limoges, Glasgow (International), Belfast (City), Manchester, Newquay and Bergerac.

New Sterling routes

Sterling will launch 3 new routes from 19 March 2007, including London (Gatwick) to Stockholm (Arlanda), Copenhagen to Split and Copenhagen to Bourgas. Flights can be booked now at www.sterlingticket.com.

SkyEurope to connect Prague and Croatia

From June 2006, Sky Europe will launch summer routes from Prague to Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia.

SkyEurope to fly between Poland and Croatia

Sky Europe will launch direct flights between their Krakow base and Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia. These flights are currently timetabled to operate for the summer season, and will begin from 17 June 2006.

Further route development for easyJet

easyJet have announced that they will launch new routes from London (Luton), Edinburgh, London (Gatwick) and Paris (Orly).

They will fly from London (Gatwick) to Split, their second destination in Croatia - announced just a week after the first. From London (Luton) they will begin flying to Bordeaux and Rimini. easyJet are also planning a major expansion at Edinburgh - their first new route will be a weekly service to Alicante.

easyJet have also announced a new route from Paris (Orly) to Ajaccio (Corsica), making the first low-cost route to Ajaccio.

Wizz Air expands into Slovenia and Croatia

From May 2006, Wizz Air will begin flights to Ljubljana. They will initially fly from Brussels (Charleroi) and London (Luton). In May, they will also launch a route between London (Luton) and Split, and will follow this up with a new route from Budapest to Split in June.

Germanwings connect Stuttgart and Split

On 14 July 2005, Germanwings are due to begin flying 3-times weekly from Stuttgart to Split.

Germanwings make Berlin next base

Hot on the heels of easyJet’s announcement last week that they were to expand their operation at Berlin (Schoenefeld) this September, Germanwings have announced that they will expand their operation at Schoenefeld in June.

From 05 June 2005, they will commence flying new routes to Zagreb, Split, Stockholm (Arlanda), Istanbul (Sabiha), Ankara, Munich and Dusseldorf. All of these routes are available to book immediately at www.germanwings.com.

Germanwings have also announced that they will commence flying to Moscow, also in June. They are yet to confirm which airport they will fly to in Moscow. Tickets are expected to be available on this route soon in the next couple of days.

Germanwings add new destinations

germanwings will add 3 new routes this summer, all originating from Cologne-Bonn. They include Krakow and Zagreb (beginning 26 June 2004), and also Split, beginning 26 July 2004.

Norwegian announce Oslo to Split

Norwegian have announced a new route, beginning mid-June, from Oslo to Split.
