Ryanair to begin flights to Osijek (Croatia)

Ryanair have put a new route on sale from their Frankfurt (Hahn) base to Osijek in Croatia. They are to begin flights on this route from 06 May 2009. They will also launch new routes from Frankfurt (Hahn) to Rimini, Carcassonne and Alicante this summer.

Amsterdam to Rimini with MyAir

MyAir have put a new route on sale from Rimini to Amsterdam. They are due to begin flying weekly on this route from 30 May 2009.

Basel to Rimini with Air Berlin

Air Berlin are to begin weekly flights between Basel and Rimini this summer. The new flights, which begin on 27 June 2009, are available to book now at www.airberlin.com.

New MyAir routes from Rimini

MyAir will begin operating two new routes from Rimini on 08 May 2009. They are due to begin weekly flights to both Bucharest (Baneasa) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

Ryanair announces expansion at Bristol, Edinburgh and Alicante

Ryanair have this week announced a massive expansion of their operations from Bristol (from July 2009), Edinburgh (from April 2009) and Alicante (from June 2009). The new routes that they will launch are as follows:

Ryanair summer routes to Rimini and Beziers

Ryanair will launch two new routes for summer from their London (Stansted) base. From June 2008 they will fly from London (Stansted) to Rimini and Beziers for the remainder of the summer season.

New Air Berlin flights to Rimini

Air Berlin will begin two new routes to Rimini in May. From 03 May 2008 they will fly to Rimini from Berlin (Tegel) and Amsterdam. These flights can be booked now at www.airberlin.com.

Ryanair begin flights to Maribor

Ryanair will begin flying from their London (Stansted) base to Maribor, the 2nd largest city in Slovenia. They will fly three times per week from 05 June 2007. They will become the first low-cost airline to fly to Maribor and this announcement will end months of speculation about whether Ryanair would fly to Maribor.

They will also begin twice weekly flights from Stockholm (Skavsta) to Rimini at the same time.

Cheap flights between Sweden and Turkey

Swedish low-cost airline FlyMe will begin flights from their Gothenburg (Landvetter) base to Istanbul (Sabiha) next year. From 02 April 2007 they will fly weekly on this route, increasing to twice weekly in May. They will also begin flights from Gothenburg (Landvetter) to Rimini on 03 May and Stockholm (Arlanda) to Marseille on 25 March.

SkyEurope to open base at Vienna

Despite only being a short distance from their Bratislava base, Central European low-cost airline Sky Europe will open a base at Vienna from 25 March 2007. Traditionally, Vienna has been ignored by many low-cost airlines due to the high landing fees that airlines must pay to fly there.

From March 2007, Sky Europe will fly from Vienna to Barcelona, Amsterdam, Brussels (International), Paris (Orly), Nice, Venice (Treviso), Florence, Rimini, Bucharest (Baneasa), Sofia, Athens, Thessaloniki, Larnaca, Zadar, Dubrovnik and Split.

Air Berlin to fly to Rimini

Air Berlin will begin flying to Rimini from 12 May 2007. They will begin flights from Amsterdam, Berlin (Tegel), Dusseldorf and Munich. These new routes are on sale now at www.airberlin.com.

East Midlands to Rimini with Ryanair

Ryanair will begin flying from their East Midlands base to the Italian resort of Rimini next year. From 27 March 2007 they will fly three times per week.

Hapag-Lloyd Express add flights to Rimini

Hapag-Lloyd Express will begin flying from their bases at Munich and Stuttgart to Rimini in Italy. Flights will begin from 15 May 2007. They will also launch a route from Hanover to Valencia at the end of March 2007. Flights on all of these new routes can be booked at www.hlx.com.

Further route development for easyJet

easyJet have announced that they will launch new routes from London (Luton), Edinburgh, London (Gatwick) and Paris (Orly).

They will fly from London (Gatwick) to Split, their second destination in Croatia – announced just a week after the first. From London (Luton) they will begin flying to Bordeaux and Rimini. easyJet are also planning a major expansion at Edinburgh – their first new route will be a weekly service to Alicante.

easyJet have also announced a new route from Paris (Orly) to Ajaccio (Corsica), making the first low-cost route to Ajaccio.

helvetic plans Italian expansion

helvetic will launch 2 new Italian routes from their Zurich base. From 12 April 2006, they will begin flights to Pisa and from 18 May, they will begin flying to Rimini.
