Lleida – a new airport for Catalona and for Vueling

Vueling, the Spanish low-cost airline, will begin flights to the newly opened airport at Lleida. From February they will operate flights to Lleida from Palma and Paris (Orly) (later these will move to Paris (Charles de Gaulle)). The flights are on sale now at www.vueling.com.

Six new Vueling summer routes to Ibiza

Vueling will launch six new routes to Ibiza this summer. From 12 June 2009 they will begin flying to Ibiza from Alicante, Bilbao, Seville, Valencia, Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Milan (Malpensa). At the same time they will also launch routes from Madrid to Mahon and from Barcelona to Palma. All of these new routes can be booked immediately at www.vueling.com.

MyAir will begin operating two new routes from Rimini on 08 May 2009. They are due to begin weekly flights to both Bucharest (Baneasa) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

14 new easyJet routes for summer 2009

easyJet put 14 new routes on sale yesterday across their European network. The new flights will launch between May and July 2009, and include routes from Bristol to Bastia and Corfu, Liverpool to Bordeaux, Dubrovnik and Naples, Manchester to Bastia, Athens and Corfu, Newcastle to Malta, Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Ajaccio, Bilbao to Ibiza, Basel to Bordeaux, Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Dubrovnik, and Geneva to Dubrovnik.

WindJet to expand at Bologna Forli

WindJet will add 12 new routes from their Bologna (Forli) base next year. Flights, most of which begin at the end of March 2009, include routes to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin (Tegel), Krakow, Lampedusa, Naples, Prague, Riga, Timisoara, Brussels (International), Cagliari and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

London Gatwick – Copenhagen with easyJet

easyJet will launch flights from London (Gatwick) to Copenhagen next year – they will begin flying this route from mid-January 2009. They are also planning to launch flights from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Bastia in mid-February 2009.

New easyJet routes from Rome and Paris

easyJet have put two new routes on sale which will operate from Rome (Fiumicino) – on 05 December 2008 they will launch flights from Rome (Fiumicino) to Bari and Palermo. They have also put a new route from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Barcelona on sale which will commence from 12 February 2009.

New Morocco and Rome flights for easyJet

easyJet will launch two new routes from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Morocco next winter. This will include flights from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Casablanca and Tangier which will begin from 27 October 2008. From 02 November they will also launch flights to Rome (Fiumicino) from both London (Gatwick) and Milan (Malpensa).

Spanish low-cost airline clickair will relocate their Bilbao to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) route from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Paris (Orly) instead. This change will take effect from 01 September 2008.

Ibiza expansion for Vueling

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will launch a number of flights to Ibiza from the end of April. On 25 April 2008 they launch flights from Madrid to Ibiza. On 30 May they will begin flying from Ibiza to Bilbao, Milan (Malpensa), Seville, Valencia and Paris (Charles de Gaulle). They will also launch flights from Ibiza to Alicante on 13 June. easyJet to expand in France

easyJet will expand their operation in France next year, with the announcement that they will open bases at Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Lyon. For the summer 2008 season, they will begin flying from Lyon to Bordeaux, Toulouse, Venice (Marco Polo), Oporto, Lisbon, Casablanca and Marrakech. Four new easyJet routes from Belfast

easyJet continue to add new routes from their Belfast (International) base. From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying from Belfast (International) to Venice (Marco Polo), Prague, Gdansk and Barcelona. At the same time, they will also launch flights from their Milan (Malpensa) base to Olbia and Cagliari, and from Glasgow (International) to Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

We have added details of On Air, a low-cost airline based at Pescara in Italy, which aims to increase the level of tourism in the Abruzzo region. Vueling announces flights from Paris base

Following the announcement last month that Spanish low-cost airline Vueling would begin flying from Paris (Charles de Gaulle), they have now put three new routes on sale. From 09 April 2007 they will begin flying from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Milan (Malpensa). They will also launch flights to Amsterdam (from 15 May) and Seville (29 June). Following their recent acquisition of BA Connect, flybe have put 11 new routes on sale from their UK hubs. These include flights from Manchester to Bergerac, Limoges and La Rochelle, from Southampton to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Isle of Man and Frankfurt (International), from London (Gatwick) to Bergerac, from Cardiff to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), from Edinburgh to Rennes and from Guernsey to Norwich and Manchester.

Italian low-cost airline MyAir will begin flights from Genoa to Paris (Charles de Gaulle). They will fly four times per week on this route from 01 May 2007.

easyJet to launch Milan flights from Bristol

easyJet continue to expand their operation at Bristol with the launch of new flights to Milan (Malpensa). They will begin flying to Milan (Malpensa) daily from 23 April 2007. They will also increase the frequency of their flights from Bristol to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) in October to twice daily.

Vueling, the low-cost airline based in Spain, are to make Paris (Charles de Gaulle) their first base outside Spain. They have requested additional landing slots from the end of March 2007 to facilitate this.

MyAir to expand their network

Italian low-cost airline MyAir will add 10 new routes from their various bases from early next year. From 15 February 2007, they will begin flying from Milan (Orio al Serio) to Bordeaux, Marseille and Tirana, from Venice (Marco Polo) to Marseille and Lille and from Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) to Bordeaux. From 15 March, they will begin flying from Bari to Bucharest (Baneasa), Genoa, Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

SmartWings schedule from Budapest confirmed

As previously announced, SmartWings will begin flying from Budapest as of the winter 2006/07 season. It has now been confirmed that they will begin flying these routes from 29 October 2006. They will launch routes to their Prague base, and also to Rome (Fiumicino), Milan (Orio al Serio) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle). In addition to the previously announced routes, they will also begin flying to Madrid.

SmartWings to fly from Budapest

This winter, Czech Republic-based low-cost airline SmartWings will begin flying from Budapest. They intend to fly daily to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and 6 times per week to Rome (Ciampino), Milan (Orio al Serio) and Prague. Launch dates have not yet been announced.

From 01 May 2006 they will also begin offering complementary light refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks on all flights.

WindJet will add flights from Venice (Marco Polo) to Oslo (International) (a route that Norwegian Air Shuttle will also begin flying from June 20006) from early March 2006, and from Palermo and Catania to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) from the end of March.

easyJet network expansion continues

easyJet have announced an expansion for 2006, and will add 14 new routes to their European route network over the coming months. This includes expansion from Lisbon to London (Luton), Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles De Gaulle), from Liverpool to Faro, Krakow, Menorca and Marseille, from Malaga to Dortmund and Berlin (Schoenefeld), from Milan (Malpensa) to Naples, Palermo, Olbia and Ibiza and from Geneva to Palma (Mallorca).

These flights will go on sale from Friday 06 January.

easyJet announces base in Milan

easyJet will make Milan (Malpensa) their next European base. They will begin operating a twice-daily service to London (Gatwick) from 01 December 2005, and from the end of March 2006 they will launch daily services to Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Madrid, Malaga and Athens. This will bring the number of routes operated by easyJet from Malpensa to 7.

They plan to expand further at Malpensa in summer 2006. Flights on these new routes will be available to purchase from 15 October 2005.

Vueling are to launch 3 new routes from Madrid in the next few months. They will launch daily flights to Rome (Fiumicino) on 15 November 2005 and to Brussels and Paris (Charles de Gaulle) on 21 December.

easyJet will base an additional aircraft at their Basel base in the coming months. This will see the introduction of 4 new routes, including a twice-daily service to Paris (Charles De Gaulle) from 31 October 2005, and from 10 March 2006, daily services to Lisbon and Amsterdam. They will also add a service to Prague, operating 5 times per week.

Germanwings expands further at Stuttgart

Germanwings will launch 6 new routes from Stuttgart at the end of October 2005. They will begin flying to Bologna, Verona, Prague, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Milan (Malpensa) and Dusseldorf.

Thomsonfly announces Bournemouth base details

Thomsonfly, who recently announced details of their new base at Doncaster, have unveiled the routes they will fly from their new base at Bournemouth for the summer season next year.

They will begin a total of 7 routes, including Paris (Charles de Gaulles), Malaga, Palma (Mallorca), Faro, Amsterdam, Pisa and Valencia.

Routes will begin from 22 March 2005 and tickets are on sale now.

Thomsonfly announce Doncaster base

Today, Thomsonfly has announced the much awaited details of the routes they will fly from their new base at Doncaster. As with their base at Coventry, they will be the first low-cost airline to fly from Doncaster.

They will fly to Alicante, Malaga, Pisa, Palma (Mallorca), Jersey, Faro, Dublin, Prague, Ibiza and Valencia and Paris (Charles de Gaulles).

Flights from their new base are due to commence on 28 April 2005, with some beginning later in the season. . Tickets are on sale now.

Austrian low-cost carrier Niki will begin flying a new route between Vienna and Paris (Charles de Gaulles) on 01 February 2005. This will be their first route to France and will make them the first budget airline to fly between these 2 cities.

From 01 October, Evolavia will operate their services from Paris (Charles de Gaulles) and Ancona to Palermo instead of Trapani.

SkyEurope changes airport at Paris

SkyEurope are due to commence flying a new route from Krakow to Paris on 30 September 2004. They had originally intended to fly to Paris (Orly) but have now moved the flight to Paris (Charles de Gaulles) for ‘operational reasons’.

Air Polonia Winter Season

For the Winter season 2004/05, it seems Air Polonia are moving some routes to cheaper airports. Flights from Warsaw will go to Paris (Beauvais), instead of Charles de Gaulles, and flights to Rome will go to Ciampino instead of Fiumicino.

In addition, Air Polonia will begin flying a new daily route between Warsaw and Stockholm (Skavsta) on 31 October 2004, as their winter season begins.

Europe welcomes yet another new budget airline – the Italian-based carrier, JetX, began flying on 02 July 2004.

They have bases in Pisa, Trieste and Bologna (Forli). They are flying to a range of destinations including Paris (Charles de Gaulles), Athens, Zakinthos, Ibiza and Olbia.

Vueling Airlines – a new budget airline for Europe

Vueling Airlines is a new Spanish budget airline with bases in Barcelona and Valencia.

They are due to begin flying on 01 July 2004, with the aim of connecting Spain with the ‘major capitals’ of south-west Europe. Initially, they will begin flying (from both bases) to Paris (Charles de Gaulles), Brussels, Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca.
