Three new Jet2 routes from Edinburgh

Jet2 have put three new routes on sale from their Edinburgh base for summer 2009. These include flights to Venice (Marco Polo), Ibiza and Mahon. The new routes begin on 21 May 2009 and are available to book now at www.jet2.com.

Jet2 to fly Blackpool to Menorca

Jet2 will fly from their Blackpool base to Mahon next summer. They have put weekly flights on sale, starting from 15 June 2009. These can be booked now at www.jet2.com.

New Jet2 routes from Belfast

Jet2 have put two new routes on sale for 2009, including flights from Belfast (International) to Jersey (launching in May 2009) and from Belfast (International) to Mahon (launching in June). Tickets are already on sale for these new routes at www.jet2.com.

New Canary Island routes for Vueling

Vueling, the Spanish low-cost airline, will begin flights to the Canary Islands this summer. From mid-March 2008 they will fly from Madrid to Tenerife (North) and Las Palmas, and from Barcelona to Las Palmas. In March they will also launch routes from Barcelona to Ibiza and Mahon, and from Malaga to Bilbao. All of these new routes are available to book now at www.vueling.com.

New Gatwick to Larnaca and Menorca routes

Monarch Scheduled will launch new flights from their London (Gatwick) base to Larnaca and Mahon this summer. They will begin flying on these routes from 19 March 2008.

Summer routes with Thomsonfly

Thomsonfly will operate a number of new summer routes from the beginning of May 2007. The new flights include:

• Bournemouth to Pisa and Valencia
• Cardiff to Barcelona and Faro
• London (Gatwick) to Corfu and Mahon
• London (Luton) to Corfu
• Manchester to Corfu, Dubrovnik, Mahon and Venice (Marco Polo)

Five more routes for Vueling

Vueling continue to expand with the announcement that they will launch 5 more new routes during May and June 2007. These include flights from Alicante to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Amsterdam, Madrid to Mahon, Malaga to Amsterdam and Palma to Rome (Fiumicino). Four new routes for easyJet

easyJet have put four new routes on sale for next year, including Newcastle to Mahon (14 July 2007) and Krakow (30 March), Bristol to Bordeaux from the end of March, and from East Midlands to Ibiza from mid-July.

FlyGlobespan expansion at Durham Tees Valley

FlyGlobespan will expand their operation at Durham Tees Valley with five new routes next year. From 28 May 2007 they will launch flights to Ibiza, initially with a weekly frequency, increasing to twice weekly during the peak summer season. From the end of June, they will launch flights to Mahon, Jersey, Nice and Pula.

Summer flights to Ibiza with Vueling

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will begin flights to Ibiza next summer from Madrid, Barcelona and Milan (Malpensa). Flights will begin from 01 June 2007. They will also fly between Bilbao and Malaga from the end of March 2007, and from Barcelona to Mahon (01 June). Flights can be booked at www.vueling.com.

Vueling to fly to Menorca

Vueling will begin flying daily from their Barcelona base to Mahon (Menorca) from 01 June 2006.

FlyGlobespan expands for summer

FlyGlobespan will launch new routes to Pula and Menorca from their bases at Glasgow (International) and Edinburgh. Both routes will begin at the end of May 2006 and are currently scheduled to operate until the end of October.

This will make FlyGlobespan the first low-cost airline to fly to Pula.

easyJet network expansion continues

easyJet have announced an expansion for 2006, and will add 14 new routes to their European route network over the coming months. This includes expansion from Lisbon to London (Luton), Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles De Gaulle), from Liverpool to Faro, Krakow, Menorca and Marseille, from Malaga to Dortmund and Berlin (Schoenefeld), from Milan (Malpensa) to Naples, Palermo, Olbia and Ibiza and from Geneva to Palma (Mallorca).

These flights will go on sale from Friday 06 January.

Jet2 expand at Newcastle

Jet2 have put 3 new routes on sale today from Newcastle, confirming their intention to make it a hub airport.

From 26 April 2006, they will begin flying daily to Amsterdam. From 22 May they will also commence routes to Menorca and Pisa.

Birmingham expansion for Monarch Scheduled

Monarch Scheduled will launch new routes from Birmingham (International) including Murcia (from 10 February 2006), Menorca (from 03 May) and Palma (Mallorca) (from 07 May).

easyJet adds 5 new summer destinations

easyJet will add 5 new summer routes in July from their various UK bases. These include:

Belfast to Faro (beginning 16 July 2005)
Newcastle to Ibiza (from 23 July)
Liverpool to Ibiza (from 24 July)
London (Gatwick) to Menorca (from 21 July)
Bristol to Menorca (from 23 July)
