New routes for Air Berlin
Air Berlin have put a number of new routes on sale for the coming months. These include:
- Munich to Dresden, Cologne-Bonn, Bremen, Muenster and Paris (Orly)
- Dusseldorf to Dresden, Nuremberg and Berlin (Tegel)
- Berlin (Tegel) to Cologne-Bonn, Karlsruhe-Baden, Nuremberg, Frankfurt (International) and Stuttgart
- Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) to Nuremberg and Leipzig to Lamezia-Terme.

Hapag-Lloyd Express expansion at Leipzig
From the end of October 2006, Hapag-Lloyd Express will launch new routes from Leipzig to Dusseldorf and Munich. They will also add 2 new routes from Leipzig to Salzburg and Klagenfurt from mid-December.

On 29 september 2005, Germanwings will launch a new route from Cologne-Bonn to Leipzig.

Hemus Air to enter low-cost market?
Bulgarian airline Hemus Air (formerly a state-owned airline, but now under private ownership) has reacted to Wizz Air’s announcement to launch routes from Budapest to the Bulgarian capital - Sofia, with a decision to launch low-cost services.
They are said to be considering flying from Sofia to Vienna, Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn and Leipzig using a budget airline model.

Air Berlin launches new Stansted route
On 04 February 2005, Air Berlin will launch a new route between Leipzig (Halle) and London (Stansted). This will be the 18th route operated from Stansted to Germany.

Germania Express adds Leipzig
Germania Express will begin flying from Munich to Leipzig (Halle) on 16 January 2005. They are the first low-cost airline to make use of the Leipzig airport.
