bmibaby have put two new routes on sale for summer next year – one from Belfast (City) to Mahon (starts mid-June 2012) and one from East Midlands to Catania (starts end of May). Both routes can be booked now at www.bmibaby.com.

bmibaby will begin flying four routes to Germany this winter, including flights from East Midlands to Cologne-Bonn and Munich, from Cardiff to Munich and Birmingham to Cologne-Bonn. Jet2 have put two winter destinations on sale already, starting from 20 December 2010. They have put flights on sale from their East Midlands base to Geneva and Chambery for the duration of the winter season. They are taking bookings at www.jet2.com.

bmibaby last week announced a massive expansion at East Midlands which will take place over the coming months. bmibaby are due to launch new routes to Alghero, Barcelona, Bastia, Dubrovnik, Cork, Malta, Newquay, Prague and Venice (Marco Polo). Ryanair have just put on sale a number of routes for this winter – this includes the following routes:
- Turin from Bristol, Dublin, East Midlands, Stockholm (Skavsta) and Glasgow (Prestwick)
- Grenoble from Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Stockholm (Skavsta)
- Cuneo from London (Stansted)
- Klagenfurt from Gothenburg (Saeve) and Stockholm (Skavsta)
- Lourdes from London (Stansted)
All of these routes begin from 19 December 2009.

Jet2 – the low-cost airline which is known for having bases in the north of England and Edinburgh will open a base at East Midlands next year. From 20 May 2010 they will add seven routes from East Midlands including Arrecife, Tenerife (Sur), Corfu, Heraklion, Paphos, Sharm El Sheikh and Dalaman. Ryanair have placed 39 new routes on sale from various European hubs to the Canary Islands. From October 2009 they will begin new flights to Las Palmas, Arrecife and Tenerife (Sur) from Girona, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Brussels (Charleroi), Dublin, Weeze, East Midlands, Frankfurt (Hahn), Glasgow (Prestwick), Liverpool, London (Luton), London (Stansted), Madrid, Oporto and Shannon.

bmibaby will begin flying from their UK bases to Grenoble this winter. From 25 October 2009 they will begin flights to Grenoble from Birmingham, Cardiff, East Midlands and Manchester. Ryanair have put six new routes on sale. These include new flights from East Midlands to Palma and Reus (beginning July 2009), Alghero to Bari and Reus (from June) and Ibiza to Rome (Ciampino) (from June) and Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) (from April).

Ryanair have put two new routes on sale from their Stockholm (Skavsta) base, including flights to Zadar and Palma. Both routes begin from the end of March 2009. They will also launch flights from East Midlands to Ibiza at the same time.

Ryanair will launch new routes from their East Midlands and Liverpool bases to Paris (Beauvais) this winter. They will also begin flying from London (Stansted) to Agadir, all from the end of October 2008.

Ryanair have put their first domestic routes in France and Germany on sale. These include flights from Marseille to Paris (Beauvais), and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Frankfurt (Hahn), which will begin operation in May. They will also begin new flights from East Midlands to Malaga and Stockholm (Skavsta) to Rostock-Laage (from 04 June), Shannon to Berlin (Schoenefeld) (from 30 May), Milan (Orio al Serio) to Trapani (from 02 July), and Alghero to Rome (Ciampino) (from 01 August).

bmibaby have added two new routes to their schedule for next year. Starting on 01 April 2008, they will add flights from their East Midlands base to Nice, and from their Birmingham base to Milan (Orio al Serio).

bmibaby are to begin flying to Poland next year, when they launch flights there from both East Midlands and Cardiff. From 09 February 2008, they will begin flying from both airports to Warsaw and Gdansk.

From 13 December, Ryanair will begin daily flights from Cork to their East Midlands and Glasgow (Prestwick) bases. They have also announced that they will begin flying from Malta to Venice (Treviso) (also from mid-December) – their eighth low-cost route from Malta.

easyJet have put two new routes on sale today from their London (Luton) and East Midlands bases. They will begin flying from London (Luton) to Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) from 05 November 2007, and from East Midlands to Palma from 08 February 2008. These flights are available to book now.

Ryanair will open their 21st and 22nd bases this year at Alicante and Valencia airports, in Spain. They will add new routes from Alicante during November and December 2007, including flights to Karlsruhe-Baden, Basel, Billund, Bournemouth, Brussels (Charleroi), Doncaster, East Midlands, Gothenburg (Saeve), Maastricht, Milan (Orio al Serio) and Paris (Beauvais).
They will add new routes from Valencia in October, to make this their 22nd base. The new routes include flights to Karlsruhe-Baden, Basel, Billund, Bologna (Forli), Eindhoven, Liverpool, Malta, Maastricht, Paris (Beauvais), Oporto and Santiago de Compostela.

Ryanair have put a number of new routes on sale, including flights from Belfast (City). From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying to Belfast (City) from East Midlands, Liverpool and Glasgow (Prestwick).

Sterling will begin flying to East Midlands from their Scandinavian bases. From the end of October 2007, they will launch flights to East Midlands from Oslo (International), Copenhagen and Stockholm (Arlanda). They will also launch flights between London (Gatwick) and Oslo (International) at the same time.

easyJet have put four new routes on sale for next year, including Newcastle to Mahon (14 July 2007) and Krakow (30 March), Bristol to Bordeaux from the end of March, and from East Midlands to Ibiza from mid-July.

Ryanair will make Madrid their 18th European base, and from 22 November 2006 will begin flying 14 new routes. They will begin flying to Dublin, Shannon, Eindhoven, Faro, Oporto, Marseille, Paris (Beauvais), Billund, Brussels (Charleroi), East Midlands, Oslo (Torp), Bournemouth, Gothenburg (Saeve) and Malmo.

From 12 February 2007, Ryanair will expand their operation from East Midlands. During a two week period they will launch 10 new routes. They will begin flying to Inverness, Knock, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Granada, Alghero, Milan (Orio al Serio), Pisa, Krakow and Bratislava.

Following the announcement yesterday that Ryanair will make Cork their 14th base, they have today announced that East Midlands will be their 15th base. They currently operate 5 routes from East Midlands, and will add a further 10 routes in March 2006, where they will base 2 aircraft.

Thomsonfly has announced that they will begin selling “frequent”, “low-cost” flights from 11 UK regional airports from summer 2006. This will no doubt see capacity from the parent group, Thomson, being utilised for Thomsonfly branded flying.
Thomsonfly already operate flights from Coventry, Doncaster and Bournemouth, but from May 2006 will begin operating flights from Cardiff, Glasgow, London (Luton and Gatwick), Birmingham (International), East Midlands, Manchester and Newcastle. Destinations announced so far include Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza and Palma (Mallorca).

bmibaby will put their 2005 winter timetable on sale this week. Routes from Birmingham and Nottingham (East Midlands) will go on sale on 15 June, with Cardiff and Durham Tees Valley routes going on sale the following day.

Ryanair have announced that they are to expand their base at Rome (Ciampino). At present they fly 12 routes from the airport, and over the coming months will add another 5 daily routes to this. On 28 January 2005 they will launch new routes from Ciampino to Niederrhein, Liverpool and Teesside. On 07 February they will also add new routes to Nottingham (East Midlands) and Valencia.

Further to their announcement last week that they were due to form a new base at Birmingham (International), bmibaby have today announced the 9 new routes they will be flying from 7 January 2005 from Birmingham. These include: Alicante, Knock, Amsterdam, Belfast (International), Edinburgh, Geneva, Malaga, Palma (Mallorca) and Prague.
This new base is in addition to their already-established hub at East Midlands.

bmibaby have announced that from the beginning of 2005, they will make Birmingham (International) a new British hub. They are due to begin flying 20 new routes, which they claim will be in addition to the services already flying from East Midlands airport.
