New MyAir routes for summer
MyAir, the Italian low-cost airline, will add two new routes this summer. From the end of May 2008 they will launch flights from Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) to Catania and from Bucharest (Baneasa) to Palermo. These can be booked now at www.myair.com.

Transavia summer 2008 routes from Amsterdam on sale
Dutch low-cost airline Transavia have put a number of new routes on sale for the summer 2008 season. These flights, which in most cases begin from April 2008, include the following destinations from their Amsterdam base: Ajaccio, Almeria, Bodrum, Catania, Corfu, Heraklion, Olbia, Palermo and Rhodos. They will also begin flying from Rotterdam to Toulon at the end of March.

Blu-Express to fly from Catania to Rome
Blu-express will begin flying from their Rome (Fiumicino) base to Catania. They will operate daily flights on this route, beginning on 28 October 2007. These new routes are available to book now at www.blu-express.com.

Two new routes for easyJet

Evolavia to begin flights to Varna
Evolavia will begin flights from their Ancona base to the Bulgarian Black Sea resort town of Varna. The weekly flights will begin on 26 July 2007. They will also launch new routes from Ancona to Girona and Catania at the beginning of June.

Italian low-cost airline WindJet will launch new routes to Russia at the end of April. From 29 April 2007 they will begin flying from Verona (Villafranca) and Catania to both Moscow (Domodedovo) and St. Petersburg.

Summer exansions for Centralwings at Warsaw
centralwings will expand the number of routes that they fly from their Warsaw base for the summer 2007 season. MyAir announce new routes to Romania and Bulgaria
Italian low-cost airline MyAir will begin flying from Catania to Bucharest (Baneasa) (Romania) and from Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) to Sofia (Bulgaria). These new routes will commence on on 19 December 2006 and 17 February 2007 respectively.

Centralwings adds many summer routes
centralwings have announced an additional 21 routes for the upcoming summer 2006 season. They intend to fly most of these routes just once or twice per week. Flights include Warsaw to Lamezia-Terme, Malaga, Corfu, Faro, Heraklion, Chania, Girona, Catania, Rhodos, Palma, Palermo, Thessaloniki and Malta. They will also add routes from Krakow to Heraklion, Malaga and Rhodos.
They will add a couple of routes from Poznan to Heraklion and Palma and from Katowice to Rhodos and Palma.

WindJet adds international flights
WindJet will add flights from Venice (Marco Polo) to Oslo (International) (a route that Norwegian Air Shuttle will also begin flying from June 20006) from early March 2006, and from Palermo and Catania to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) from the end of March.

The return of Volareweb
The Italian low-cost carrier Volareweb, which suspended flights in November 2004, is due to begin flying again this June under ‘extraordinary management’.
After much speculation about the future of the airline, it would seem that they are having a cautious re-introduction to the low-cost market and initially intend to fly 4 Italian domestic routes from 01 June 2005. These routes will be from Milan (Linate) to Bari, Brindisi, Catania and Naples.

MyAir will make Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi) their next hub airport. From 24 June they will begin flying from Bologna to Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Brindisi, Palermo and Lamenzia-Terme.

On 05 May 2005 Virgin Express will commence flying a new route from Brussels to Catania. They will also begin a new route from Brussels to Murcia on 10 May.

During their summer 2005 season, helvetic will introduce 4 new routes from their base at Zurich to Italy. The new airports they will fly to include Lamenzia-Terme, Catania, Palermo and Brindisi.

centralwings - a new low cost carrier for Europe!
While the bankruptcy of Air Polonia is still unclear, today we learn that a new low-cost carrier - centralwings - will launch next year, backed by Polish state airline LOT.
centralwings will use 3 bases in Poland, Warsaw, Krakow and Katowice. They will commence flights to London (Gatwick) from Warsaw and Krakow on 01 February 2005.
They will then begin the roll-out of their summer timetable during March - May. This will include routes between Warsaw and Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi), Lisbon, Malta, Girona, Prague, Nuremberg, Catania, from Krakow to Rome (Ciampino) and from Katowice to Cologne-Bonn and Hanover.

MyAir - a new budget airline for Italy
On 17 December 2004, MyAir is due to commence flying. They are a new low-cost airline based in Italy who are offering both domestic and international routes.
Initially they will offer routes from Milan (Orio al Serio) to Brindisi, Catania, Naples and Madrid, from Venice to Madrid and Barcelona and from Catania to Madrid.
They are taking bookings now, with lead-in fares of €0.01.

WindJet adds German routes
Italian low-cost airline WindJet has added 2 new routes to Germany. From 06 November 2004 they will begin flying from Catania to Munich and Dusseldorf.
In addition, they will start a new route on 06 November between Palermo and Milan (Orio al Serio).

Volareweb launch winter timetable
Volareweb have announced a large expansion for thier operation, based in Italy. On 31 October they will launch 10 new routes.
From Bologna, they will begin flights to Bari, Cagliari, Catania and Palermo. They will also begin flying routes from Bari to Catania and Palermo. At Milan, they will launch 2 new routes from different airports, from Malpensa they will fly to the Romanian capital of Bucharest and from Orio al Serio they will fly to Lamenzia-Terme. Finally, from Naples they will launch 2 new routes to Catania and Palermo.
