New easyJet routes for summer

easyJet continue with their usual summer expansion for this year and have added some new routes from the UK for 2011. These include:

Kaunas to be the next Ryanair base..where else?

Ryanair will launch ten new routes from Kaunas in Lithuania this summer and will make it their 40th European base. From May 2010 they will begin flying from Kaunas to Edinburgh, Girona, Berlin (Schoenefeld), London (Gatwick), Oslo (Rygge), Tampere, Weeze, Milan (Orio al Serio) and Paris (Beauvais).

easyJet have put 13 new routes on sale across their European network. These include: London (Gatwick) to Munich, Vienna, Zurich and Bodrum, Manchester to Dalaman, Lyon to Pisa, Paris (Orly) to Dubrovnik and Faro, Milan (Malpensa) to Heraklion, Rhodos, Dubrovnik and Split and Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Cagliari.

14 new easyJet routes for summer 2009

easyJet put 14 new routes on sale yesterday across their European network. The new flights will launch between May and July 2009, and include routes from Bristol to Bastia and Corfu, Liverpool to Bordeaux, Dubrovnik and Naples, Manchester to Bastia, Athens and Corfu, Newcastle to Malta, Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Ajaccio, Bilbao to Ibiza, Basel to Bordeaux, Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Dubrovnik, and Geneva to Dubrovnik.

New Norwegian routes from Oslo

Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch five new routes from their Oslo bases this winter, with flights beginning from 29 October 2008. The new routes include Oslo (Rygge) to Krakow, Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Prague, and from Oslo (International) to Belgrade and Szczecin.

Massive additions to Ryanair winter flight schedule

Although Ryanair have made it known that they intend to ground some of their fleet this winter due to the high cost of oil, they have just announced details of 40 new routes that they will begin flying this winter. The new routes begin from the end of October 2008, and include:

Ryanair to fly French and German domestic routes

Ryanair have put their first domestic routes in France and Germany on sale. These include flights from Marseille to Paris (Beauvais), and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Frankfurt (Hahn), which will begin operation in May. They will also begin new flights from East Midlands to Malaga and Stockholm (Skavsta) to Rostock-Laage (from 04 June), Shannon to Berlin (Schoenefeld) (from 30 May), Milan (Orio al Serio) to Trapani (from 02 July), and Alghero to Rome (Ciampino) (from 01 August).

Ryanair to open 27th base at Edinburgh

Ryanair will make Edinburgh their 27th base this year. They will add twice weekly flights from Edinburgh to Weeze from June 2008. In September, they will also launch flights to Billund, Berlin (Schoenefeld), Bournemouth, Bratislava, Krakow, Lodz, Poznan, Palma, Stockholm (Skavsta) and Wroclaw.

Three new routes for easyJet

easyJet have put three new routes on sale, starting in June 2008. These include flights from Ibiza to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) and Berlin (Schoenefeld), and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Heraklion.

easyJet to add Swiss flights

This summer easyJet will add flights from their Geneva base to Ajaccio, Split (both from 29 June 2008) and Nantes (from 31 March), and from Basel to Cagliari (from 29 June). They will also begin flying a new route between Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Thessaloniki from 31 March.

Two new easyJet routes from Berlin

easyJet have begun putting their Winter 07/08 timetable on sale. This includes two new routes from their Berlin (Schoenefeld) base to Brussels (International) and Lyon. These flights will commence on 29 October 2007.

13 new Ryanair routes from Stockholm

Ryanair will increase capacity at their Stockholm (Skavsta) base this October. They will begin flights from Stockholm (Skavsta) to Alicante, Basel, Berlin (Schoenefeld), Bratislava, Eindhoven, Karlsruhe-Baden, Liverpool, Malta, Pisa, Oporto, Salzburg (from December 2007), Trapani and Valencia.

Norwegian to fly to Birmingham

Norwegian Air Shuttle have announced that they will begin flying from their Warsaw base to Birmingham. They will fly three times per week from 17 April 2007.

They will also launch flights from Stavanger to Berlin (Schoenefeld) at the beginning May. Tickets for both of these flights are already on sale at www.norwegian.no.

New easyJet routes from Geneva and Berlin

easyJet will begin flying from their Geneva base to Cagliari from 28 June 2007. They will also add two new routes from their Berlin (Schoenefeld) base, flying to Venice (Marco Polo) and Lisbon from 11 May.

Germanwings summer 2007 schedule on sale

Germanwings have put flights on sale until the end of October 2007. This includes a number of new routes from their Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn, Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) bases. Flights begin from the end of March.

From Cologne-Bonn they will begin flying to Alghero (Sardinia), Zadar (Croatia), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Bucharest (Baneasa) (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Bourgas (Bulgaria), Varna (Bulgaria) and Kavala. From Stuttgart they will begin flying to Bastia (Corsica), from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) to Palma and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Bourgas (Bulgaria), Verona (Villafranca) (Bulgaria) and Balaton  (Hungary).

Expansion for Jet2 at Manchester

Jet2 will launch six new routes from their Manchester base next summer. The routes, some of which will begin from the end of March 2007 (the others starting later), include Manchester to Venice (Marco Polo), Warsaw, Toulouse, Barcelona, Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

Germanwings to launch new routes for summer

Germanwings have put a number of new routes on sale for the summer 2007 season. These include flights from their Cologne-Bonn base to Rhodos, Malta, Corfu, Lamezia-Terme and Mykonos. They will launch new routes from their Stuttgart hub to Athens, Ankara (Esenboga), Lamezia-Terme, Malta and Ibiza, and also from Hamburg (Fuhlsbuettel) to Corfu and from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Mykonos.

Germanwings adds St Petersburg and Zweibrucken from Berlin

Germanwings has put 2 new routes from their Berlin (Schoenefeld) base on sale, including flights to St. Petersburg from 02 November 2006, and flights to Zweibrucken from 15 September.

easyJet targets BA with Gatwick expansion

easyJet will increase capacity at their London (Gatwick) base by 10% this winter. This will be reflected in additional flights on existing routes to Madrid, Cologne-Bonn, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin (Schoenefeld) and Athens.

They will also add a new route between London (Gatwick) and Glasgow (International), which will operate 3 times every day.

With this expansion, easyJet aim to attract business passengers currently flying with BA. easyJet is now taking the time to publicise a change in policy which allows passengers to transfer to earlier flights free of charge, if there is space on an earlier flight. easyJet also continues to be attractive due to an unlimited weight allowance on hand luggage.

Ryanair will fly from Dublin to Berlin

From 01 June 2006, Ryanair will begin flying daily between their base at Dublin and Berlin (Schoenefeld). This will bring the number of routes they fly from Dublin to 52.

Norwegian to launch new Bergen routes

Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch 2 new routes from Bergen at the beginning of April 2006. They will begin flying twice per week to Manchester and 3 times per week to Berlin (Schoenefeld).

easyJet expands at Glasgow

easyJet have announced that they will launch 4 new routes from Glasgow (International). This follows an announcement that they would cease operating their route from Glasgow (International) to Amsterdam at the end of March.

They will launch new routes to Alicante and Malaga (beginning 07 July 2006), Berlin (Schoenefeld) (from 03 May) and Palma (from 20 May).

Further expansion is expected for easyJet at both Glasgow (International) and Edinburgh over the coming months. This is as a result of a new deal to reduce airport charges at these airports for easyJet.

easyJet network expansion continues

easyJet have announced an expansion for 2006, and will add 14 new routes to their European route network over the coming months. This includes expansion from Lisbon to London (Luton), Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles De Gaulle), from Liverpool to Faro, Krakow, Menorca and Marseille, from Malaga to Dortmund and Berlin (Schoenefeld), from Milan (Malpensa) to Naples, Palermo, Olbia and Ibiza and from Geneva to Palma (Mallorca).

These flights will go on sale from Friday 06 January.

Expansion at Iceland Express

Iceland Express are due to begin flying to 5 new European destinations in mid-May 2006. This will more than double the number of routes currently operated from their Reykjavik base.

The new routes will be from Reykjavik to Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter), Berlin (Schoenefeld), Alicante and Friedrichshafen.

Germanwings summer 2006 timetable

Later this evening, Germanwings will put their summer 2006 timetable on sale. This will include new routes from Cologne-Bonn to Alicante, Gdansk, Gothenburg (Saeve), Heraklion, Jerez and Antalya. It will also include new routes from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Ibiza, Stuttgart to Antalya and Hamburg to Izmir.

Flights will go on sale (for new and existing destinations) this evening at 6pm CET at www.germanwings.com.

Ryanair announces 15th base at Nottingham East Midlands

Following the announcement yesterday that Ryanair will make Cork their 14th base, they have today announced that East Midlands will be their 15th base. They currently operate 5 routes from East Midlands, and will add a further 10 routes in March 2006, where they will base 2 aircraft.

The new routes will be introduced during the first half of March, and include flights to Berlin (Schoenefeld), Derry, Nimes, Carcassonne, Nantes, Dinard, Limoges, Lodz, Wroclaw and Bergerac.

Major expansion at Iceland Express

The CEO of Iceland Express has announced that they will begin flying 6 new routes in Spring 2006. They will begin flying to Bergen, Stockholm (Arlanda), Gothenburg (Landvetter), Hamburg (Luebeck), Friedrichshafen and Berlin (Schoenefeld).

Flights will go on sale in October for these new routes.

Virgin Express to return to Berlin

From 05 September 2005, Virgin Express will begin flying their Brussels base to Berlin (Schoenefeld). They will initially fly once-daily, but the frequency of flights will increase to twice-daily from October.

Virgin Express previously flew to Schoenefeld, until 2000 when they withdrew the route.

easyJet have put the 2nd part of their winter 2005 schedule on sale. This includes routes from Basel, Berlin (Schoenefeld), Geneva and London (Luton).

Germanwings winter schedule on sale

Following the announcement by Hapag-Lloyd Express, Germanwings have announced that they will begin the sale of flights from their 2005/06 winter schedule this afternoon at 4pm (GMT). This will include flights until 25 March 2006.

They will also put their routes on sale in phases. This first phase will include new routes from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Oslo, Prague and Warsaw.

Germanwings fly to Moscow

As As previously announced, Germanwings are due to launch a new flight flight from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Moscow this summer season, although a launch date and airport was not confirmed at the time of the original announcement.

We have learnt that they are due to commence flying a 3-times weekly service to Vnukovo airport on 20 June 2005 and expect that flights will be on sale shortly from www.germanwings.com.

Germanwings make Berlin next base

Hot on the heels of easyJet‘s announcement last week that they were to expand their operation at Berlin (Schoenefeld) this September, Germanwings have announced that they will expand their operation at Schoenefeld in June.

From 05 June 2005, they will commence flying new routes to Zagreb, Split, Stockholm (Arlanda), Istanbul (Sabiha), Ankara, Munich and Dusseldorf. All of these routes are available to book immediately at www.germanwings.com.

Germanwings have also announced that they will commence flying to Moscow, also in June. They are yet to confirm which airport they will fly to in Moscow. Tickets are expected to be available on this route soon in the next couple of days.

easyJet expands Berlin base

easyJet have announced that they will launch 3 new routes from their base at Berlin (Schoenefeld) on 21 September 2005. They will begin flying to London (Gatwick), Milan (Linate) and Rome (Ciampino).

This will make Schoenefeld their 2nd largest base, after London (Stansted).

Seats will go on sale for these new routes on 09 March.

easyJet will launch a new twice-daily route from Maastricht (Aachen) to Berlin (Schoenefeld) on 13 April 2005.

easyJet have announced that, in addition to their recently announced expansion at Belfast (International), they will add a further 2 new routes. On 01 July 2005 they will begin flying to Berlin (Schoenefeld) and on 02 July they will commence flying a new route to Rome (Ciampino).

easyJet expands in Italy

easyJet have taken the opportunity today to announce 4 new routes to Italy, presumably following the loss of Volareweb from low-cost Europe.

They will launch 2 new routes from Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Pisa and Olbia, both routes will commence on 08 April 2005. In addition, they will begin a new route from London (Gatwick) to Olbia on 27 May and one from London (Luton) to Cagliari on 21 April.

JetX launch new routes from Bologna

Italian low-cost carrier JetX have announced 4 new routes which they will be running from Bologna for the winter season.

From Bologna they will begin flying to Hamburg, Berlin (Schoenefeld), Brindisi and Reggio Calabria, a new destination for European low-cost airlines.

easyJet expand into the Baltics

Since EU enlargement in May this year, many have been waiting with bated breath for further expansion by budget airlines into eastern Europe and the Baltics. Today, following Ryanair‘s recent decision to begin flying to Riga, easyJet have also announced that they will begin flying to Riga, initially with one route from Berlin (Schoenefeld). Flights will begin on 18 November 2004.

In addition, easyJet will become the first low-cost airline to fly from the UK and Germany to Estonia. They will begin flights from London (Stansted) and Berlin (Schoenefeld) to the Estonian capital, Tallinn, on 1 November and 28 October respectively.

easyJet announces 6 more new routes

Flights this winter are already hotting up, despite many remarks that the industry will suffer a blow during the off-peak season. Showing a serious commitment to expansion, easyJet have just announced a further 6 new European routes, including destinations which are completely new to them.

The new routes include London (Luton) and Berlin (Schoenefeld) to Bratislava, London (Luton) to Turin, London (Stansted) to Almeria and Valencia and Bristol to Madrid.

easyJet announce more new routes

In the next stage of the roll-out of their winter timetable, easyJet have announced yet more previously unannounced new routes from their new based, Berlin (Schoenefeld). From 31 October 2004, they will be flying to Ljubljana, Geneva, Krakow and Madrid. In addition, they have also announced a new route from Dortmund to Belfast (International).

These flights are on sale now, along with a large amount of their winter timetable.

Rapid Wizz Air expansion

The new central-European startup, Wizz Air, have today announced yet more new routes all over Europe. They have expanded from Budapest, to make it a base, adding new routes to Athens, Rome (Ciampino), Girona, Paris (Beauvais), Prague and London (Luton). All of these routes begin on 24 June 2004.

They have also expanded their main base at Katowice, to include new routes to Athens, Stockholm (Skavsta), Dortmund, Paris (Beauvais), Venice and Munich. These routes will begin from 01 July 2004.

Mysteriously, their previously announced (and already on sale) route from Katowice to Berlin (Schoenefeld) has disappeared from their site.

new airline, new routes – Wizz Air

The new Polish budget airline, Wizz Air, today announced their first routes from their base at Katowice. All flights are available for booking from today.

They will initially begin flying on 19 May 2004 to London Luton, Berlin Schoenefeld, Milan Orio al Serio and Rome Ciampino.
