Jet2 to begin flying to Newquay
Jet2 will begin flying to Newquay next summer from their Leeds Bradford and Belfast (International) bases. Flights will commence on these routes from 18 May 2009, and can be booked now at www.jet2.com.

New Jet2 routes from Belfast
Jet2 have put two new routes on sale for 2009, including flights from Belfast (International) to Jersey (launching in May 2009) and from Belfast (International) to Mahon (launching in June). Tickets are already on sale for these new routes at www.jet2.com.

Four new easyJet routes from Belfast
easyJet continue to add new routes from their Belfast (International) base. From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying from Belfast (International) to Venice (Marco Polo), Prague, Gdansk and Barcelona. At the same time, they will also launch flights from their Milan (Malpensa) base to Olbia and Cagliari, and from Glasgow (International) to Paris (Charles de Gaulle).

Jet2 winter flights on sale
Jet2 have put some winter routes on sale, including new flights to Chambery from Edinburgh and Belfast (International). They will also fly to Chambery from Newcastle, Leeds Bradford and Manchester, to Geneva from Leeds Bradford and Manchester and to Salzburg from Leeds Bradford. Flights will begin from 10 December 2007.

Jet2 winter sun destinations on sale
Jet2 have just put part of their 2007 winter timetable on sale. This includes flights from Leeds Bradford to Arrecife and Las Palmas, from Manchester to Las Palmas, Tenerife (Sur) and Arrecife, from Newcastle to Arrecife and Las Palmas, from Belfast (International) to Tenerife (Sur) and Las Palmas and from Blackpool to Tenerife (Sur). The timetable comes into effect from the end of October.

easyJet summer flights to Ibiza
easyJet will launch three weekly routes to Ibiza from the UK this summer. From 16 June they will fly from Glasgow (International) and also from Belfast (International) (beginning 07 July) and Bristol (beginning 14 July).

Jet2 expand at Belfast
Jet2 continue their expansion at Belfast (International) with the announcement that they will launch five additional new routes there next year. During March and April 2007 they will begin new routes to Toulouse, Ibiza, Palma, Malaga and Milan (Orio al Serio). These flights are scheduled to operate for the summer season.

easyJet expansion at Belfast with flights to Krakow
easyJet will begin flying to Krakow from their Belfast (International) base from 24 April 2007. They will fly three times per week on this route, which will form part of a larger expansion of routes from Belfast (International) to be announced in the coming weeks. Flights will not go on sale until November when the easyJet summer schedule goes online.

Wizz Air launch Poland flights from Belfast
Wizz Air, the Central European low-cost airline, will begin flying to Belfast (International) from Poland. From 29 May 2007 they will fly between Belfast (International) and their bases at Warsaw and Katowice.

Jet2 to fly from Belfast to Tenerife
From October 2006, Jet2 will launch a winter route from Belfast (International) to Tenerife. They will fly once per week on this route until March 2007. Tickets are already on sale for these flights.

Increased competition at Cardiff
bmibaby have decided to stop operating flights in association with Air Wales on routes from Cardiff to Glasgow (International) and Belfast (International). Air Wales have responded by announcing the launch of their own route to Belfast (City).
In addition, Aer Arann have also announced the launch of 2 new routes to Cardiff, including one from Belfast (City) and one from Dublin (from 27 March 2006). This will mean that there will be 3 low-cost airlines competing on Cardiff to Dublin routes (Aer Arann, Air Wales and Ryanair), and also routes to Belfast (bmibaby, Aer Arann and Air Wales).

Jet2 launch Pisa route from Belfast
Jet2 will add to the number of hub airports flying to Pisa when they launch a route from Belfast (International) to Pisa on 26 May 2006. They will operate a weekly flight on this route.
Jet2 will also launch a new route from Leeds (Bradford) to Milan (Bergamo) on 07 April.

Jet2 move in to Blackpool
Following our recent discussion as to whether Jet2 are likely to expand further at Newcastle, they have announced the launch of 3 routes from Blackpool. From 04 November 2005, Jet2 will operate a flight 4-times per week from Blackpool to Belfast (International). They will begin routes to Palma (Mallorca) and Murcia on 06 April 2006.

Jet2 adds routes to Murcia
Jet2 will launch 2 new routes to Murcia. In the first instance, they will launch a route on 04 September 2005 from Newcastle to Murcia - their first route from Newcastle.
They will also launch a route from Belfast (International) to Murcia for the 2006 summer season, commencing 01 July 2006.
Flights are available now for booking on these routes.

easyJet adds 5 new summer destinations
easyJet will add 5 new summer routes in July from their various UK bases. These include:
Belfast to Faro (beginning 16 July 2005)
Newcastle to Ibiza (from 23 July)
Liverpool to Ibiza (from 24 July)
London (Gatwick) to Menorca (from 21 July)
Bristol to Menorca (from 23 July)

easyJet adds 2 new routes from Belfast
easyJet have announced that, in addition to their recently announced expansion at Belfast (International), they will add a further 2 new routes. On 01 July 2005 they will begin flying to Berlin (Schoenefeld) and on 02 July they will commence flying a new route to Rome (Ciampino).

EUjet announce new summer routes
EUJet will commence 8 new routes from Kent (Manston) for the summer 2005. From 27 March they will launch new flights to Alicante, Budapest, Belfast (International), Newcastle, Girona and Cologne-Bonn. From 01 May they will launch routes to Seville and Valencia.

easyJet announced 3 new routes to commence on 01 July 2005 from their base at Belfast (International). The new routes include Inverness, Geneva and Palma (Mallorca).

On 23 March 2005, Jet2 will begin 2 new routes from their new base at Belfast (International) to Bournemouth and Cork.

easyJet summer 05 timetable on sale
Today, easyJet has announced the first part of their summer timetable. Various flights are on sale now from Belfast, Bristol, Newcastle and East Midlands for the summer 2005 season.
easyJet will continue to make the remainder of their timetable available over the coming weeks.

Jet2 launch 3rd route from Belfast
Jet2 have announced that they will begin flying daily between Belfast (International) and Barcelona from 24 September 2004. This will be their 3rd route from their base in Belfast, which they established in April this year with a route serving Prague.

bmibaby announces new routes from Birmingham
Further to their announcement last week that they were due to form a new base at Birmingham (International), bmibaby have today announced the 9 new routes they will be flying from 7 January 2005 from Birmingham. These include: Alicante, Knock, Amsterdam, Belfast (International), Edinburgh, Geneva, Malaga, Palma (Mallorca) and Prague.
This new base is in addition to their already-established hub at East Midlands.

easyJet announce more new routes
In the next stage of the roll-out of their winter timetable, easyJet have announced yet more previously unannounced new routes from their new based, Berlin (Schoenefeld). From 31 October 2004, they will be flying to Ljubljana, Geneva, Krakow and Madrid. In addition, they have also announced a new route from Dortmund to Belfast (International).
These flights are on sale now, along with a large amount of their winter timetable.

New easyJet routes starting earlier
Apparently due to unprecedented demand, easyJet has brought forward the start dates on a number of new routes, including:
- Belfast - Nice, Malaga, and Paris (Charles de Gaulle) (now beginning 15 June 2004)
- Belfast - Alicante (now beginning 16 June 2004)
- Dortmund - Palma, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Rome (Ciampino) (now beginning 15 July 2004)
