dba to take over Germania Express

It was revealed earlier in the week and confirmed today that dba are planning to taking over 15 routes currently operated by Germania Express. This will see them lease planes from Germania and operate routes on their behalf, but it is unclear to what extent dba will take over the operation of the airline.

It is also believed that dba are interested taking over Olympic Airlines, the Greek national carrier.

Germania Express adds Leipzig

Germania Express will begin flying from Munich to Leipzig (Halle) on 16 January 2005. They are the first low-cost airline to make use of the Leipzig airport.

Germania Express adds Saarbruecken to low cost Europe

In November, Germania Express will commence flights between Berlin (Tempelhof) and Saarbruecken. This will be the only low-cost route to Saarbruecken at the moment.

Next month, Germania Express will begin flying from Dusseldorf to Skopje.

New Zurich routes

2 new routes from Zurich have been announced, including one by Germania Express to Malaga (starting 24 April) and one by Air Berlin to Hanover (starting 3 May).
