Centralwings to give up operating scheduled flights

centralwings, the low-cost arm of Polish flag carrier LOT, will give up operating scheduled flights at the end of September 2008. With the current economic climate, they have opted to focus on charter operations going into the winter season. All Centralwings scheduled flights after the end of September have been cancelled. Obviously they are attempting to push their scheduled business through their parent company. More information is available at www.centralwings.com.

Centralwings to fly to Haugesund

Central European low-cost airline centralwings will begin flights to the Norwegian city of Haugesund. They are scheduled to launch flights from Haugesund to Gdansk and Warsaw in the next week or so. These flights are available to purchase now at www.centralwings.com.

Centralwings to fly Krakow – Barcelona route

centralwings have put on sale new flights from their Krakow base to Barcelona. The flights, which will operate three times per week, will begin from 01 May 2008. They appear to be replacing flights on a withdrawn route from Krakow to Girona.

Warsaw and Poznan expansion for Centralwings

centralwings will begin flying to Lisbon from their Warsaw base this summer, with flights beginning from 02 April 2008. They will also begin flying to Amsterdam from Poznan at the end of March.

Central European low-cost airline centralwings will begin three new routes from Poznan from the end of October 2007. Summer exansions for Centralwings at Warsaw

centralwings will expand the number of routes that they fly from their Warsaw base for the summer 2007 season. Centralwings winter schedule on sale including new routes

centralwings, the low-cost airline owned by Polish state airline LOT, have put their winter 2006/07 schedule on sale. This includes many new routes, such as flights from their Warsaw base to London (Stansted), Lille and Grenoble. They heavily upgrade the routes from their Wroclaw base, including flights to London (Gatwick), Cologne-Bonn, Cork and Rome (Ciampino). They will also launch routes between Krakow and Cork, Gdansk and Shannon.

With many of these new routes being to Irish airports, one wonders whether centralwings is attempting to challenge Ryanair.

Changing the rules of low-cost..Centralwings offers child discount

The Polish low-cost airline, centralwings, now offers a discount on tickets for those ages 2-16 years on all flights (when travelling with at least 1 adult). During the booking process, children can now receive a 20% discount on the standard adult fare. Those under 2 travel for free.

Centralwings adds many summer routes

centralwings have announced an additional 21 routes for the upcoming summer 2006 season. They intend to fly most of these routes just once or twice per week. Flights include Warsaw to Lamezia-Terme, Malaga, Corfu, Faro, Heraklion, Chania, Girona, Catania, Rhodos, Palma, Palermo, Thessaloniki and Malta. They will also add routes from Krakow to Heraklion, Malaga and Rhodos.

They will add a couple of routes from Poznan to Heraklion and Palma and from Katowice to Rhodos and Palma.

Centralwings to expand UK and Ireland routes

Centralwings will launch 5 new routes to the UK and Republic of Ireland for the summer 2006 season. They will launch a route from Lodz to Dublin in direct competition with Ryanair, who recently announced that they would start flying this route from 04 April. They will also launch a route to Dublin from Gdansk.

In addition, they will launch routes to Edinburgh from Gdansk and Katowice, and to Leeds (Bradford) from Warsaw. At the same time, Centralwings will also launch a route from Krakow to Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi). All routes commence at the end of March 2006, and are available to book now.

Centralwings announces new winter routes

Centralwings have put their winter 2005/06 timetable on sale, including 7 new routes.

This includes 4 new routes from Warsaw to Shannon, Edinburgh, Grenoble and Milan (Malpensa).

They will also begin flying to Dublin from Katowice and Wroclaw on 16 December 2005. They will also launch a route from Wroclaw to Milan (Malpensa)

Following the release of new routes yesterday, Centralwings have announced details of a new route between Warsaw and Palma (Mallorca). They will fly weekly from 20 May 2005 for the summer season.

Centralwings launch summer services

Centralwings will launch a number of summer services from Poland to Greece. The flights, operating either weekly or fortnightly, will commence from the end of May 2005 and operate until mid-October.

They will begin services from Warsaw to Crete (Chania) and Thessaloniki. They will also fly to Crete from Poznan and Krakow, and Thessaloniki from Poznan and Katowice.

Budget airlines add capacity for Pope’s funeral

Extra capacity has been added on flights from Poland to Rome over the coming week, in order that citizens can attend the Pope’s funeral.

Centralwings have added capacity from Warsaw and Krakow to Rome (Ciampino). They also fly from Warsaw to Bologna, where an onward connection to Rome can be made by train.

Sky Europe have added capacity on their flights from Warsaw and Krakow to Rome (Fiumicino). Meanwhile Wizz Air have announced a temporary new route from Katowice to Rome (Fiumicino).

Centralwings fly (briefly) to Tenerife

The Polish low-cost carrier, Centralwings, will fly weekly from 19 February 2005 from Warsaw to Tenerife until 26 March.

Centralwings is a part of the state airline LOT. On the surface, this looks like they are simply trying to sell some spare capacity during the winter season.

Centralwings and Germanwings to cooperate

It was announced yesterday that Germanwings and Centralwings are to cooperate. They will work together on sales and marketing, in much the same way Germanwings is already working with bmibaby.

Germanwings is part of Lufthansa, and Centralwings is the new low-cost offshoot of Polish state airline, LOT. Centralwings is due to begin flying at the beginning of February.

Already both of the airline web sites have been updated to reflect the changes.

centralwings – a new low cost carrier for Europe!

While the bankruptcy of Air Polonia is still unclear, today we learn that a new low-cost carrier – centralwings – will launch next year, backed by Polish state airline LOT.

centralwings will use 3 bases in Poland, Warsaw, Krakow and Katowice. They will commence flights to London (Gatwick) from Warsaw and Krakow on 01 February 2005.

They will then begin the roll-out of their summer timetable during March – May. This will include routes between Warsaw and Bologna (Guglielmo Marconi), Lisbon, Malta, Girona, Prague, Nuremberg, Catania, from Krakow to Rome (Ciampino) and from Katowice to Cologne-Bonn and Hanover.
