New Jet2 routes from Edinburgh
Jet2 have put two new routes on sale from their Edinburgh base for next summer. From 17 May 2010 they will begin flying three times per week to Faro, and from the end of April they will fly weekly to Dubrovnik. Tickets are on sale now for both new routes at www.jet2.com.
Vueling to fly from Seville to Casablanca
Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will launch flights from Seville to Casablanca this winter. They will operate three flights per week on this route from 02 December 2009. Book now at www.vueling.com.

Germanwings to add Copenhagen flights from Cologne
Germanwings are to begin flying to Copenhagen from their base at Cologne-Bonn next year. From 28 March 2010 they will fly six times per week on this route, with a number of onward connections available to further Germanwings destinations at Cologne-Bonn.

Baboo to fly to London
Swiss low-cost airline Baboo will begin flying from their Geneva base to London (City) this winter. From the end of October 2009 they will fly 11 times per week on this route. At the same time they will also launch flights from Geneva to Marseille and Milan (Malpensa).
New Condor routes to Madeira
Condor will operate two new winter flights to Funchal from November/December 2009. These include flights from Hanover and Leipzig to Funchal. Booking is available at www.condor.com.

bmibaby expand at East Midlands
bmibaby last week announced a massive expansion at East Midlands which will take place over the coming months. bmibaby are due to launch new routes to Alghero, Barcelona, Bastia, Dubrovnik, Cork, Malta, Newquay, Prague and Venice (Marco Polo). New Rome to Bologna route with Windjet

New Ryanair bases at Bari and Brindisi
Ryanair announced this week that they would open two new bases at Bari and Brindisi from next year. They will begin operating the following routes from Jan/Feb 2010:
- Bari to Brussels (Charleroi), Cagliari, Genoa, Karlsruhe-Baden, Paris (Beauvais), Trapani, Valencia, Venice (Treviso) and Weeze.
- Brindisi to Eindhoven, Girona, Trapani and Venice (Treviso).

New Italian routes for Albania’s BelleAir
Belle Air will begin flying two new routes from their base at Tirana this winter. From 27 October 2009 they will begin flying from Tirana to Naples and Turin.
New Wizz Air route – Kiev to Venice
Wizz Air have just put on sale a new route from Kiev to Venice (Treviso) for the forthcoming winter season. From the end of October 2009 they will operate flights twice per week on this route.

FlyGlobespan will begin a new route from their Aberdeen base to Dubrovnik next summer. From 05 May 2010 they will operate weekly flights on this route.
Jet2 launch flights to Tunisia
Jet2 will begin flying to Monastir from their bases in the north of England next year. From May 2010 they will fly to Monastir from Manchester, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle. Tickets are available to book for next summer at www.jet2.com.

Winter sun from Stavanger and Trondheim

Norwegian add new routes from Copenhagen and Stockholm
Norwegian Air Shuttle have put 7 new routes on sale from their Stockholm (Arlanda) and Copenhagen bases for the winter 09/10 season. This winter they will operate flights from Copenhagen to Barcelona, Geneva and Salzburg. They will also open routes from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Barcelona, Geneva, Salzburg and Tenerife (Sur). New Ryanair ski routes on sale for December
Ryanair have just put on sale a number of routes for this winter – this includes the following routes:
- Turin from Bristol, Dublin, East Midlands, Stockholm (Skavsta) and Glasgow (Prestwick)
- Grenoble from Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Stockholm (Skavsta)
- Cuneo from London (Stansted)
- Klagenfurt from Gothenburg (Saeve) and Stockholm (Skavsta)
- Lourdes from London (Stansted)
All of these routes begin from 19 December 2009.

SkyEurope files for bankruptcy
The Central European low-cost airline with a turbulent history – Sky Europe – has today filed for bankruptcy protection. All fights are suspended with immediate effect. SmartWings and Wizz Air are offering support to stranded SkyEurope customers.
SkyEurope were banned from flying from Vienna airport last month after an argument over unpaid airport fees. Over the weekend Prague airport announced that they would cancel all SkyEurope flights from today due to unpaid fees.
