New Russian low-cost airline – Avianova – takes off

Russia now has a new low-cost airline as Avianova begain operations this week. They are based at Moscow (Vnukovo) and currently operate four routes to destinations in Russia including Sochi, Rostov, Samara and Krasnodar.

Jet2 adds East Midlands base

Jet2 – the low-cost airline which is known for having bases in the north of England and Edinburgh will open a base at East Midlands next year. From 20 May 2010 they will add seven routes from East Midlands including Arrecife, Tenerife (Sur), Corfu, Heraklion, Paphos, Sharm El Sheikh and Dalaman. Ryanair expands Edinburgh base

Ryanair will expand their operation at Edinburgh this winter with their announcement to launch eight new routes. From November 2009 they will fly from Edinburgh to Girona, Las Palmas, Arrecife, Tenerife (Sur), Brussels (Charleroi), Gdansk, Oslo (Torp) and Memmingen.

New low-cost airline routes from Newcastle with Jet2

Jet2 have put four new routes on sale from their Newcastle base. From May 2010 they will begin flying from Newcastle to Dalaman, Paphos, Heraklion and Las Palmas. Book now at www.jet2.com to get the cheapest fares.

New Ryanair routes from Madrid to Morocco

Ryanair have put four new routes on sale from their Madrid base to destinations in Morocco. From November 2009 they will begin flying from Madrid to Nador, Fez, Marrakech and Tangier.

Two new Jet2 routes from Manchester

Jet2 have put two new routes on sale for the summer season in 2010. They will begin flying from Manchester to Las Palmas (weekly) and to Venice (Marco Polo) (four times per week). Tickets are available to book now at www.jet2.com.

Manchester to Kos with Jet2

Jet2 have put a new route on sale from their Manchester base to Kos for summer 2010. They will begin weekly flights on this route from 26 May 2010. Flights are on sale now at www.jet2.com.

Iceland Express to fly to Birmingham

Iceland Express have announced that they will operate flights between Birmingham and Reykjavik next summer. They will operate weekly flights on this route from 01 June 2010. Tickets can be booked now at www.icelandexpress.com.

New Romanian flights from London with Blue Air

Romanian low-cost airline Blue Air are due to begin two new routes to London this winter. From 25 October 2009 they are due to begin flights to London (Luton) from Bacau and to London (Stansted) from Sibiu.

Ryanair announces new Portuguese routes

As we leaked earlier this week on our Twitter feed, Ryanair have announced three new routes from Oporto, including their first ever Portuguese domestic route. From 27 October 2009 they will begin flying from Oporto to Faro, Karlsruhe-Baden and Weeze.

New easyJet route between Basel and Dusseldorf

easyJet will begin flying between Basel and Dusseldorf this winter. They will operate daily flights on this route from 02 November 2009.

Jet2 to begin flying to Bergerac

Jet2, the low-cost airline from the north of England, will begin flying from their Leeds Bradford base to Bergerac next summer. They will operate weekly flights on this route from 22 May 2009. More information can be found at www.jet2.com.

New Stockholm to Oslo route with Ryanair

Ryanair will begin a new flight between Stockholm (Skavsta) and Oslo (Rygge) this winter. They will fly twice per day on this route from 25 October 2009.

Wizz Air to launch new route from Gdansk to Bergen

Wizz Air will begin flying between Gdansk and Bergen this winter. From 18 December they will fly twice per week on this route.
