Bari to Malta with Ryanair

Ryanair have announced that they will begin flying between Bari and Malta from 28 October 2008. This will replace a less financially viable route between Malta and Bremen.

Manchester to Sharm el Sheikh this winter

Jet2 will begin a schedule of weekly flying from their Manchester base to Sharm El Sheikh this winter. They currently have an odd schedule which is not continuous throughout the winter season, but provides broad coverage over most of the winter. Nine new Ryanair routes from Birmingham

In January 2008, Ryanair announced that they were making Birmingham their 25th regional base. They have just announced an additional nine new routes from Birmingham which will launch in November 2008. These include flights to Alicante, Fuerteventura, Palma, Murcia, Derry, Katowice, Kaunas, Krakow and Prague.

New Gatwick - Lyon connection with easyJet

easyJet will launch a new route from their London (Gatwick) base to Lyon in October 2008. They are due to begin flying this route from 01 October.

Polish expansion for Ryanair at Shannon

Ryanair will add three new routes to Poland from their Shannon base during the forthcoming winter season. From November 2008 they will begin flying from Shannon to Katowice, Gdansk and Lodz.

Further easyJet expansion at Milan Malpensa

easyJet will add four new routes from their Milan (Malpensa) base this winter. From 01 October 2008 they will begin flying from Milan (Malpensa) to Sofia, Copenhagen, Lamezia-Terme and Brindisi.

Budapest to Dortmund with Wizz

Wizz Air will begin flying from Budapest to Dortmund this winter. They will fly three times per week on this route from the end of October 2008.

Click Air Paris flights move from Charles de Gaulle

Spanish low-cost airline clickair will relocate their Bilbao to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) route from Paris (Charles de Gaulle) to Paris (Orly) instead. This change will take effect from 01 September 2008.

Ryanair to fly Knock - Liverpool route

Ryanair are to begin flying from Knock to Liverpool. They will operate daily flights on this route from 27 October 2008.

Jet2 to begin flying to Sharm el Sheikh

Jet2 have just put on sale new flights from their Leeds Bradford base to Sharm El Sheikh. They are due to begin flying weekly on this route from 09 February 2009.

Warsaw to Rome with Wizz Air

Wizz Air will add their 17th destination from the Polish capital, Warsaw, later this year when they launch direct flights to Rome (Ciampino). They will fly three times per week on this route from 16 September 2008.

Air Southwest to move winter ski flights to Grenoble

Air Southwest have announced that they will move their winter ski flights from Chambery to Grenoble. The new flights will operate from Newquay and Plymouth to Grenoble from 20 December 2008. The flights can be booked now at www.airsouthwest.com.

Blu-Express to operate summer route to Pantelleria

Italian low-cost airline Blu-express will operate a summer service between Rome (Fiumicino) and Pantelleria, starting 27 June 2008. They are scheduled to run twice per week on this route until the end of September.

Gothenburg to Florence with Sterling

Sterling have launched a new route for the summer season from their Gothenburg (Landvetter) base to Florence. Flights on this route are currently available to book until the end of October 2008 at www.sterling.dk.

New Air Berlin routes to Tenerife and Paris

Air Berlin have put on sale flights, operating immediately until the end of the summer season, from Erfurt to Tenerife (Sur). They have also put a new route on sale from their Berlin (Tegel) base to Paris (Orly), which begins on 01 November 2008. Both routes can be booked now at www.airberlin.com.

Massive additions to Ryanair winter flight schedule

Although Ryanair have made it known that they intend to ground some of their fleet this winter due to the high cost of oil, they have just announced details of 40 new routes that they will begin flying this winter. The new routes begin from the end of October 2008, and include:

• Bournemouth to Milan (Orio al Serio) and Paris (Orly)
• Bristol to Gdansk, Marrakech and Szczecin

• Frankfurt (Hahn) to Birmingham, Klagenfurt and Prague
• Glasgow (Prestwick) to Faro, Malaga and Tenerife (Sur)
• London (Luton) to Beziers, Derry, Kaunas, Rzeszow, Szczecin and Trapani
• Madrid to London (Stansted) and Milan (Orio al Serio)
• Marseille to Agadir, Brest, Lille, Nador and Tangier
• Milan (Orio al Serio) to Berlin (Schoenefeld), Bournemouth, Brindisi, Fez, Ibiza and Madrid

Niki flights to Innsbruck this winter

Austrian low-cost airline Niki will fly from their Vienna base to Innsbruck this winter, with flights beginning on 01 November 2008.
