AlpiEagles grounds all flights
Italian low-cost airline AlpiEagles have been forced to ground all of their aircraft and suspend operations. They have recently been operating a reduced service, but have been forced to suspend flying after their Air Operations Certificate (AOC – the license required to operate passenger flights) was revoked by the Italian national aviation authority (ENAC).
Their AOC was allegedly revoked due to ongoing financial problems, and the inability to settle outstanding debts for airport landing fees. These are believed to amount to around €6M. Although the final outcome remains to be seen, it looks unlikely that this Italian airline will recover from this financial crisis.
