easyJet agrees to buy GB Airways

easyJet have this morning agreed the purchase of GB Airways for £103.5m. GB Airways currently operates under a franchise agreement with British Airways, and operates flights to Europe and North Africa under their name. They operate a total of 39 flights from London (Gatwick), London (Heathrow) and Manchester, and easyJet will be able to take over their landing slots at London (Gatwick).

The current franchise agreement will continue until the end of March 2008, after which easyJet will take control of the GB Airways operation.
