Eight new Ryanair routes from Shannon
Ryanair continue to grow at Shannon with the announcement that they will launch eight new routes this November. These will include flights from Shannon to London (Luton), Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Dublin, Tenerife (North), Fuerteventura, Riga and Kaunas.
Glasgow to Katowice with Wizz Air
Wizz Air, the low-cost airline based in Central Europe, will begin flying from Glasgow (Prestwick) to the Polish city of Katowice. Flights will begin on 03 September 2007.

Expansion on the cards for SmartWings
Czech low-cost airline SmartWings is set to expand following the announcement that a 50% stake in the parent company, Travel Service, is to be acquired by Icelandair. After the sale has completed, it is expected that SmartWings capacity should triple.
FlyGlobespan to connect Edinburgh and Madeira
FlyGlobespan will launch flights from their Edinburgh base to Funchal this winter. They will fly weekly on this route from 05 November 2007.

Scandinavian flights from Nottingham East Midlands
Sterling will begin flying to East Midlands from their Scandinavian bases. From the end of October 2007, they will launch flights to East Midlands from Oslo (International), Copenhagen and Stockholm (Arlanda). They will also launch flights between London (Gatwick) and Oslo (International) at the same time.

Two new routes for easyJet
easyJet will begin flying new routes from Milan (Malpensa) to Catania (starting 13 July 2007) and from Edinburgh to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) (beginning 10 September). These new flights are available to book now.
Norwegian Air Shuttle to fly to London Gatwick
Norwegian Air Shuttle will begin flying between London (Gatwick) and Oslo (International). They are scheduled to fly six time per week on this route, starting on 28 October 2007. Flights are on sale at www.norwegian.no.
Jet2 winter sun destinations on sale
Jet2 have just put part of their 2007 winter timetable on sale. This includes flights from Leeds Bradford to Arrecife and Las Palmas, from Manchester to Las Palmas, Tenerife (Sur) and Arrecife, from Newcastle to Arrecife and Las Palmas, from Belfast (International) to Tenerife (Sur) and Las Palmas and from Blackpool to Tenerife (Sur). The timetable comes into effect from the end of October.

Ryanair makes Bristol their 20th base
Today, Ryanair announced that Bristol would become their 20th European base. They announced 13 new routes from their airport, which will begin from November 2007. These include flights from Bristol to Bratislava, Riga, Katowice, Rzeszow, Wroclaw, Poznan, Budapest, Salzburg, Oporto, Knock, Milan (Orio al Serio) and Dinard. This move may surprise some, given that Bristol is a well established easyJet base, and has been for many years.
Ryanair had also announced a new route from Bristol to Derry, but the future of Derry became uncertain today when it had its license to operate flights revoked by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. All flights to Derry are suspended with immediate effect.

Ryanair to launch 9 new routes from Milan
Ryanair continues their expansion, as they have announced that they will add nine new routes from their Milan (Orio al Serio) base during December 2007/January 2008. They will begin flying from Milan (Orio al Serio) to Alghero, Bari, Cagliari, Billund, Santander, Oporto, Riga and Gothenburg (Saeve).
Santorini flights from Milan with MyAir
Italian low-cost airline MyAir will begin flying to Santorini from their Milan (Malpensa) base. They will begin flying this route from 10 July 2007.
2 new Ryanair routes from East Midlands
Ryanair will begin flying two new routes from East Midlands from October 2007. They will begin flying from East Midlands to Riga and Budapest.

Milan to Cagliari with MyAir
MyAir will operate late-summer flights from Milan (Orio al Serio) to Cagliari this year. They will fly three times per week from 17 September 2007 and are scheduled to operate flights for just over one month.
Ryanair expansion at Girona
Ryanair have announced the launch of eight new routes from their Girona base this winter. These include flights from Girona to Billund, Bratislava, Fez, Marrakech, Graz, Hamburg (Luebeck), Malta and Wroclaw. The launch of these flights will be staggered during October and November.

Norwegian winter flights to the Canary Islands
Norwegian Air Shuttle will begin flying from their Oslo (International) base to Tenerife (Sur) and Las Palmas this winter. They will begin flying (weekly and twice weekly respectively) from 27 October 2007. Flights can be booked at www.norwegian.no.
Evolavia to begin flights to Varna
Evolavia will begin flights from their Ancona base to the Bulgarian Black Sea resort town of Varna. The weekly flights will begin on 26 July 2007. They will also launch new routes from Ancona to Girona and Catania at the beginning of June.
Vueling to fly to Athens
Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will begin flying to the Greek capital, Athens. From 27 June 2007, they will begin flights from both their Barcelona and Madrid bases. Flights are already on sale for these new routes at www.vueling.com.
New Sterling flights for winter
This winter, Sterling will begin a number of new routes from their Scandinavian bases. From the end of October 2007, they will begin flying to Dortmund from Stockholm (Arlanda), Copenhagen and Oslo (International). From mid-December they will begin flying to Salzburg from Stockholm (Arlanda) and Oslo (International), and to Chambery from Stockholm (Arlanda), Copenhagen, Oslo (International), Billund and Gothenburg (Landvetter). FlyBaboo announces summer flights to Corsica
Flybaboo will operate flights between their Geneva base and both Ajaccio and Figari on Corsica. This will make them the first low-cost airline to fly to Figari. Flights will begin from mid-June 2007.

Milan to Bastia with MyAir
Italian low-cost airline MyAir will begin flying from their Milan (Orio al Serio) hub to Bastia. They will begin flying on this route from 21 July 2007.
New Polish routes for Norwegian
Norwegian Air Shuttle will launch two new routes from Poland. From 29 October 2007, they will begin flying from Szczecin to Oslo (International) and from Warsaw to Munich. These flights can be booked now at www.norwegian.no.
Ryanair launches base at Weeze
Ryanair have announced eight new routes from Weeze (or Dusseldorf Weeze as they like to call it), which they will launch this October. These new routes include flights to Trapani, Milan (Orio al Serio), Valencia, Seville, Malaga, Fuerteventura and Marrakech.
They will also launch flights (four times per week) from Weeze to the Swedish city of Vaxjo. Ryanair will become the first low-cost airline to fly to Vaxjo, and it is anticipated that they may launch further routes to Vaxjo over the coming months.

Ryanair to fly from Bournemouth to Nantes
Ryanair will begin flying from Bournemouth to Nantes this summer. From 14 June 2007 they will fly three times per week.
Fly to Edinburgh with Clickair
The Spanish low-cost airline clickair will add another UK connection, when they begin flights from their Barcelona base to Edinburgh. They will begin daily flights on this route from 01 August 2007.

On Air – low-cost airline connections from Pescara
We have added details of On Air, a low-cost airline based at Pescara in Italy, which aims to increase the level of tourism in the Abruzzo region. They either currently or are scheduled to fly to Pescara from a number of cities across Europe, including Lviv, Kiev, Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Brussels (Charleroi), Munich, Split, Bucharest (Baneasa) and Heraklion.

Belle Air – the first Albanian low-cost airline
We have added routes operated by Belle Air, the first Albanian low-cost airline, to our route database. They began flying in November 2006
Belle Air operate flights from a single hub airport – the Albanian capital Tirana. These flights include routes to Athens, Bari, Milan (Orio al Serio), Cuneo, Florence, Bologna (Forli), Genoa, Heraklion, Milan (Malpensa), Parma, Perugia, Pisa, Rome (Fiumicino), Venice (Treviso), Trieste and Verona (Villafranca).
New FlyGlobespan winter destinations from Aberdeen
FlyGlobespan will add four new routes from their Aberdeen base this coming winter. From the beginning of November 2007, they will begin flying from Aberdeen to Prague, Funchal and Malaga. From 23 December, they will also begin flying to Geneva.
