SkyExpress - a low-cost airline in Russia
This week a new low-cost airline began operating in Russia, SkyExpress. They are the first low-cost airline to be based in Russia. The first flight was from Moscow to the Russian resort town of Sochi and further flights are planned to Murmansk and Rostov-On-Don from mid-February.
New summer routes for Norwegian
Norwegian Air Shuttle will begin three new routes in mid-June 2007. These will include flights from their Oslo (International) base to Kos and Rhodos in Greece, and Ibiza in Spain. Flights can be booked now at www.norwegian.no.
Clickair arrives in Galicia
Spanish low-cost airline clickair will expand their operation to include flights to the Galicia region of Spain. From 01 April 2007 they will begin flying from their Barcelona base to La Coruna, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo. They will become the first low-cost airline to fly to Vigo.

Three new routes from Katowice
Wizz Air continue to expand their operation at Katowice with the announcement of three new routes. From 29 May 2007 they will fly daily to London (Stansted). From 14 July they will fly to Malmo and from 02 October they will fly to Brussels (Charleroi) (both three times per week).

Norwegian move Rome airport
Norwegian Air Shuttle will move their flights to Rome from Rome (Ciampino) to Rome (Fiumicino). From 25 March 2007, they will modify their routes from Oslo (International) and Warsaw. Flights to Rome (Fiumicino) are already on sale at www.norwegian.no.

Additional flights to Bucharest from Milan
Italian low-cost airline MyAir will shortly increase their capacity from Milan to the Romanian capital, Bucharest. They already fly from Milan (Orio al Serio) to Bucharest (Baneasa), but from 01 February they will also begin flying to Bucharest (Baneasa) from Milan (Malpensa).

Flybaboo to launch route to Sardinia
Flybaboo are to launch a route from their Geneva base to Olbia. They will begin flying three times per week from 20 June 2007.
New Pisa link from Vienna
Sky Europe have put another new route from their Vienna base on sale. From 27 March 2007 they will fly from Vienna to Pisa.
FlyGlobespan to fly to Cyprus
FlyGlobespan will add another flight from London (Stansted) when they begin flying to Larnaca (Cyprus) for the summer season. They will begin flying twice per week from 01 April, increasing to six times per week later in the season.
Palermo routes for Blu-Express
Italian low-cost airline Blu-express will begin flights from Palermo on 27 March 2007. They will begin flying twice per week to Grenoble and Nice.
Vueling to open new international base
Vueling, the Spanish low-cost airline, are currently investigating opening a hub airport outside Spain. Although they currently operate a number of flights to international airports, they are now actively looking for a non-Spanish base.
The current options for a base city include Paris, Milan, Rome and Amsterdam. They are expected to make a decision on which to pursue by the end of February 2007.

Sterling flights between Copenhagen and Berlin
Sterling will begin flights from their Copenhagen base to Berlin (Tegel) from the end of March 2007. They will fly twice per day on this new route. Flights can be booked now at www.sterlingticket.com.
SkyEurope from Budapest to Venice
Sky Europe will begin flights from their Budapest base to Venice (Treviso) for the summer season. They will begin flying three times per week from 27 March 2007.

Wizz Air to launch flights to Greece and Bulgaria
Wizz Air, the low-cost airline based in Central Europe, will launch flights from their Budapest base to Thessaloniki (Greece) and Varna (Bulgaria). Flights will begin on 12 and 10 June 2007 respectively.
Fly from Oslo to Belgrade with Norwegian
Norwegian Air Shuttle have put a new route on sale from their Oslo (International) base to the Serbian capital, Belgrade. They will fly weekly from 28 April 2007. Book now at www.norwegian.no.

Further 2 new routes for easyJet
easyJet continue to put more new routes on sale for flights over the coming months. They will begin flying between Madrid and Palma from 26 February 2007, and will begin flying from London (Gatwick) to La Rochelle from 14 July.
New Polish flights from Dublin
Ryanair will begin flying two new routes from their Dublin base to Poland. From May 2007 they will begin flying from Dublin to Bydgoszcz and Gdansk.

New easyJet routes from Geneva and Berlin
easyJet will begin flying from their Geneva base to Cagliari from 28 June 2007. They will also add two new routes from their Berlin (Schoenefeld) base, flying to Venice (Marco Polo) and Lisbon from 11 May.

easyJet summer flights to Ibiza
easyJet will launch three weekly routes to Ibiza from the UK this summer. From 16 June they will fly from Glasgow (International) and also from Belfast (International) (beginning 07 July) and Bristol (beginning 14 July).
