Iberia to launch low-cost airline

It was announced today that Iberia, the Spanish national airline, will to launch a low-cost airline in October of this year. With 3 partners, they expect to operate 5 aircraft by the end of the year.

The airline does not yet have a name, however they expect the airline to be based at Barcelona. This will of course put them in direct competition with Vueling, who have a large base at Barcelona.
