Sterling and Iceland Express to merge

It has come to light that Sterling is to be sold to Icelandic investors Fons Eignarhaldsfelag. They were previously major shareholders of Icelandair and currently own Iceland Express, the only low-cost carrier to fly to Iceland at the present time.

It seems likely that Iceland Express, which is considerably smaller than Sterling, will be merged into the Sterling operation.
