flybe ‘lands’ at Liverpool

flybe have announced that they are to make Liverpool a new hub on their network. From 2005 they will begin flights to Belfast (City) (on 10 February), Edinburgh, Glasgow (International) (both on 27 March 2005, when they commence flying their summer timetable) and Jersey (from 07 May).

This expansion at Liverpool will make flybe the 7th low cost carrier to fly to the airport, further making Liverpool a hub for budget travel in the UK and further fuelling competition in the north west. Their announcement comes only shortly after Air Wales and Wizz Air have announced routes to Liverpool, which is probably best known as a major easyJet hub.
