Ryanair to fly to Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Ryanair are to begin flights from their London (Stansted) base to Plovdiv in Bulgaria this winter. They are due to fly twice per week on this new route from November 2010. They will be the first low-cost airline to operate flights to Plovdiv, and it will their first route to Bulgaria.

Ryanair to open Seville base

Ryanair are due to make Seville their 44th base in Europe this winter. They have announced 10 new routes from Seville including flights to Eindhoven, Bari, Venice (Treviso), Zagreb, Palma, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Paris (Orly) and Marseille.

Air Berlin and niki are joining Oneworld..

Air Berlin have announced that they are to join the Oneworld airline alliance, also home of British Airways, American Airlines, Finnair and Iberia. It is expected that they will begin code-sharing with some of these airlines once they have finalised their membership. Partner Niki will join as an affiliate at the same time.

Air Berlin to fly to Arvidsjaur

Air Berlin are to fly to Arvidsjaur in the north of Sweden this winter. They will begin flying to Arvidsjaur from Stuttgart and Hanover at the end of November 2010. Both routes are on sale at www.airberlin.com.

new bmibaby routes to Germany for winter

bmibaby will begin flying four routes to Germany this winter, including flights from East Midlands to Cologne-Bonn and Munich, from Cardiff to Munich and Birmingham to Cologne-Bonn. The new routes begin at the end of October 2010, with the exception of East MidlandsMunich which begins in mid-September. Book now at www.bmibaby.com.

Iceland Express to launch Orlando flights experiment

The Iceland based low-cost airline Iceland Express are to experiment with flying from their base at Reykjavik to Orlando, Florida this winter. Following the success of the flights they have been operating this summer to Newark, they are going to operate weekly flights to Orlando this October. Vueling to launch Bilbao – Milan route

Vueling will operate flights from Bilbao to Milan (Malpensa) this winter. They will fly four times per week on this route from 31 October 2010. Tickets can be booked now at www.vueling.com.

Meridiana to fly to Tortoli

Meridiana are to begin flying to Tortoli in Sardinia this summer. From early June 2010 they will begin flights form Tortoli form Olbia, Milan (Malpensa), Rome (Fiumicino) and Verona (Villafranca). Tickets are on sale now at www.meridiana.it.

Spanish low-cost airline Vueling to fly to Tel Aviv

Vueling are to begin flying from their Barcelona base to Tel Aviv this summer. From 13 June 2010 they will commence flights three times per week on this route. Tickets are available to book now on this new route at www.vueling.com.

Winter 2010/11 flights on sale already at Jet2.com

Jet2 have put two routes on sale for the forthcoming winter season. This includes Belfast (International) to Geneva and Manchester to Salzburg. Both routes begin on 20 December 2010, and can be booked now at www.jet2.com.
