Facts about Thomsonfly
The low-cost airline, Thomsonfly, was launched in March 2004, based at Coventry airport. This was run as a scheduled operation, to accompany the charter work of their parent, TUI Group.
As of October 2005, it was announced that Britannia (formerly responsible for operating charter flights within the TUI Group) would become part of the Thomsonfly brand. As far as the customer is concerned, there is now little distinction made between the low-cost scheduled part of Thomsonfly, and their comprehensive network of 'traditional' charter flights.
